In terms of produce and the grocery store itself, ALWAYS double check the expirations on your items, from ice cream to frozen pizzas. Numerous times I have purchased items that were PAST expired. Normally, I do a very thorough job of checking these things but sometimes when I am in a hurry I grab the first thing on the shelf and when I get home I learn its expired. I do believe their staff and or management need to do a better job with removing expired items as this can make people very sick. As for the pharmacy, I had some bad experience with their pharmacy section. I used to visit to get my flu shot and then all of a sudden I go in for my regular shot and after 30 minutes of waiting they tell me they do not accept my insurance. Its really misleading when I have been visiting many times before and their is a clear sign outside saying we accept "Most" insurances. I had several other friends who complained about the same thing, I guess "Most" is a way to protect them from saying "All or None". To recap, this location is not a terrible place, but it has many issues that need to be resolved. Because of this I end up having to drive an additional 20 minutes to another Jewel that is somewhat better.

This is the third consecutive order where more than seventy dollars worth of items were simply never placed in my bags. Not substituted. Not out of stock. Just… missing. Again. At this point it feels less like a small oversight and more like a complete breakdown in basic operations. When customers are trusting this service to save time (and frankly, sanity), it should not take multiple trips back into the store or several calls to customer service just to receive items we already paid for. The most frustrating part is the consistency of the inconsistency. One mistake is understandable. Two is questionable. Three in a row is a system failure. It is clear there is zero quality control happening before orders are brought out. I hope management actually pays attention to this because people rely on these services, and right now Jewel Osco Pickup is making that impossible. At this rate, it would be faster and more reliable to shop anywhere else.
