I ordered a carne asada bowl and three chicken tacos, and I’m still trying to figure out what I actually paid for.
The carne asada bowl was a half bowl experience — one half had food, the other half looked like it was either:
1. already eaten by an employee, or
2. left empty as part of Chipotle’s new “imagination-based dining” concept.
There were maybe a few pieces of carne asada (I counted… twice). No rice at all. Not even a single grain hiding at the bottom. And the tomatillo green chili salsa? Missing in action.
Now let’s move on to the chicken tacos.
Also missing:
• White rice ❌
• Fresh tomato salsa ❌
What I did receive was tortillas filled with disappointment and regret.
And to top it all off — no utensil was provided, which really completed the experience. I guess I was expected to scoop the half-empty bowl with my hands or just stare at it in disbelief.
At this point, Chipotle’s business model seems pretty clear:
Charge more, give less, and see how long customers tolerate it.
Lake Zurich location — thanks for the lesson in portion control. Next time I’ll just Venmo you the money and imagine the food.

GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION.
(You’ll probably get treated like you’re their employee who just dropped guac all over the floor)
Specifically the blonde guy who was working the Chipotlane. I was a couple minutes too early to pickup our order, and was screamed at from the drive through window. (“You’re too early!”) I will go to the Kildeer location from now on just hoping that a Qdoba or even a White Castle opens up in its place.

Unbelievable service, I hate giving bad reviews, this is my first. I ordered a regular 22oz tractor lemonade, the lady at the drive thru would not dispense it claiming it said small soda on the recipt and that doesn't count, I showed her my phone showing what I ordered and paid for. Still, she wouldn't budge, this is not the first time a free drink from your rewards has ended in frustration you also take the organic lemonades out after 10pm and still allow it to be ordered. I want lemons and sugar, not minute maid which is chemicals and high fructose corn syrup and the color is a byproduct of oil refining. If you dont fix this, im done with Chipole for good. Cold burritos with barely any meat is just the tip of this pile...CHIPOTLE CLEAN UP YOUR ACT!!! EDIT: THE PLOT THICKENS! It isn't that bad if someone forgets utensils and napkins...but it sure does when you put a partially wrapped burrito leaking juices into and through the bag, NOW I have to go find some Chipolaway to scrub my passenger seat! Guys just...eat anywhere else...

I get why you wouldn’t read a review for a staple like Chipotle, been to one, been to them all. But if you do happen upon this review…save your hard earned respect for the Chipotle brand and GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION, literally ANY other location will do. Calling this place incompetent would be generous. Incompetence implies deviation from a standard. What’s happening here appears to be consistency.
I understand, people have a bad experience on an off night and they seek their justice out on the review boards. This is not that. This is a review holstered, for 5, maybe 6 visits…each painfully similar to the next. It’s not just about a rude, overworked employee with zero ability to provide even a modicum of customer service or undercurrent of simple pleasantness - it’s about the majority of them, on every visit. It’s not about one or two items left out, or not cooked perfectly, it’s about the overwhelming lack of quality on nearly every item ordered. Rice hard? Check. Veggies raw? Yep. Meat cold, chewy? You betcha. And does any employee working there care? Not even the slightest.
Look at the many 1 star reviews and complaints - it doesn’t take much effort to identify a trend, it may even be their M.O. This place IS that bad!
Life can be hard enough, eating out is supposed to be convenient and mostly enjoyable, not introduce another disappointment to your day. So be kind to yourself and just drive a few more miles to the next closest location. Hey, might as well get used to it bc there is no way any person with the slightest bit of business acumen would allow this place to continue operating as it does for much longer.
