I am a Perks member of course lol but last night I went and had an issue with my app- it showed a free sandwich w/purchase that wasn't going thru for some reason? (Might have been expired? But it was still available in my app) Luckily, a wonderful worker named Malachi- was called to the window to assist & literally maybe 10 seconds & everything was handled! It's very comforting knowing that any issue with the app can be quickly & confidently handled there! I don't know what the issue was exactly, but Malachi took care of it, upheld the coupon perk and was extremely friendly & happy to do so! (It's nice to know esp for some people unfamiliar with the app or technology) I told him it's my cousin's first time eating Portillo's & I'm so glad he was able to make it great for her (and me too haha) It's just very nice to see good quality customer service esp with a chain restaurant. I've had workers argue over perks or deals before & I'm beyond happy that this situation was handled gracefully. You def get more bees with honey! It feels good to feel appreciated and taken care of, esp with the Portillos app fiasco. People like Malachi are exactly the reason why I will continue to go to Portillos, that location for SURE is a staple. (Harwood Heights) My cousin was also happy that everything went so smoothly after the first person at the window didn't understand the issue. Customer service is very important and it shows at this location by being treated as you would treat a family member. My first time cousin even got a tiny dessert for her bday! Quality customer service at this location I tell ya! 🤌🏼💋 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thank you, Malachi! Please make sure you have him training all the people (and a pay bump!) bc that is the way you do business!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Side note--to the new owners, pls bring back the original size of chocolate cake slices and broiled chicken sandwiches! They're both my fav and they're tiny now after getting new ownership 😭 big fail when big corporations do that. My sandwich always has half the bun left over and the cake is extremely tiny sliced up individually when it used to explode out the box. Double up chicken Patty's or get the big ones that the OG owner used PLS! Don't skimp out on quality for your loyal customers.
