  1pm 4/14/2026 walked in lady asked what kind of bread, I said Italian, she said what kind of sub I said I'll take veggie today, she said okay cheese, I said yes provolone and could I get extra please, she asked if I wanted it toasted, I said no, she then asked what kind of veggies I wanted on my 5 meat sub. Mind you, I have autism so I was looking down the entire time and not watching her every move and didn't notice she was piling meat on my sandwich off the rip. I said oh woah I said veggie not 5 meat, and she argued with me claiming she said she asked me if I said 5 meat sub and I told her yes. I told her I did not hear her ask me that question so I didnt tell her yes. She proceeded to toss the meats back into the buckets, sloppily make the new sandwich, and throw the knife onto the back counter like she was angry that a mistake was made. I planned on getting chips and a drink, but she was obviously irritated with me so I chose to get out of there as fast as possible. Weird energy getting huffy over a minor mistake.

  I ordered on the app to pick up. Greeted nicely as I walked in to pick up my order on the pick up shelf. Appreciated that and the friendliness. I don't like to complain, especially a place in my home town, but I love Subway and the subs I ordered tonight have been the worst subs I have ever encountered in my Subway lifetime experience. I even put "Extra" for mayo and asked for oil. Not a taste of any mayo and oil. So dry and also the bread was hard and not fresh at all. Absolutely, disappointing. I will stick the Dodge St, Dubuque Subway, even though the location is more inconvenient and out of my way when I drive by the Galena location daily. Hopefully, something can change at the Galena location to make it better. It use to be good.

  Staff are friendly but I've ever had fresh bread at the galena, IL location. Bread cracks, crumbles and falls apart!

  I got a slider at galena subway and was told couldn't have any vegetables on it! The reason I go to subway is for the vegetables. East Dubuque subway lets you have vegetables. So be warned. Won't get another one.
