  Ever since I started making gluten-free bread myself, I buy most of my ingredients here since you can buy them in small, loose-weight quantities, so you don’t have tons of bags with starches/flours/baking sodas etc. cramming the cupboards. I also like that they have the Earth Balance soy-free variety of the vegan butter, since that one is hard to find in supermarkets. And I buy loose-weight jasmine tea here too. Now I’ve discovered that the owner makes and sells his own samosas here every day — both regular and gluten-free — and they taste fantastic and are very reasonably priced ($2.29 each + tax). They come with the two classic red and green Indian sauces. That’s a great deal.

  It has come to my attention that a significant portion of the inventory, specifically supplements and various products, at this health food store may be past their expiration dates. I advise customers to exercise caution and verify product freshness prior to purchase. During a recent visit, a cashier acknowledged this concern, attributing the situation to the owner's apparent disinterest in addressing the issue, citing continued customer purchases as justification. It is imperative that we prioritize our well-being by diligently checking expiration dates and persistently voicing our concerns. Despite premium pricing, the owner has reportedly shown no inclination to rectify the presence of expired merchandise. I intend to not only publish this review but also formally report this critical public health matter to the Department of Health.

  I enjoy getting loose leaf from here and some other herbs. He’s very knowledgeable but I don’t appreciate being followed around the store every single time I come in. Any aisle you go in he just so happens to be stocking up right next to you. 👎🏾

  As excited as I was to learn about a local business with so many good products, as disappointed I was to see that a decent number of products on their shelves have expired - some even two years ago! On the other hand, the business owner can be pushy and very arrogant. Too bad since this could be a great place otherwise. Oh, and the prices are higher than any other similar store in Chicagoland.

  Local small business with a large selection of everything you want in Health Food Store and then some. Plus the good feeling I get from shopping local.
