  During my visit to this Jewel-Osco location, I attempted to purchase items using my SNAP card. The manager on duty, Maria, was extremely disrespectful and displayed racist behavior toward me. She denied my purchase without any valid reason and spoke to me in a degrading and unprofessional manner. Because of the way I was treated, I felt uncomfortable, disrespected, and unwelcome in the store. I will never shop at this Jewel-Osco location again. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed immediately to prevent this type of discriminatory treatment toward other customers.

  On my recent visit to your location, I experienced one of the most disturbing and hurtful customer service encounters I have ever faced. I am deeply disappointed and feel compelled to report the incident in full detail. Upon entering the store, I approached an employee and asked where I could find the Kosher section. The individual, whom I later learned was the store manager—her name, as she stated, is Maria—immediately responded with, “We don’t sell that crap at this location.” Her choice of words shocked me. I was stunned not only by the disrespect but by the clearly discriminatory tone. As a customer simply asking for a food section, I felt belittled, targeted, and unsafe. Trying to clarify the situation and hoping there had been a misunderstanding, I asked to speak with the manager. She looked directly at me and replied, “You’re looking at the manager.” Her attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and hostile. After this exchange, I was extremely uncomfortable remaining in the store. I am a regular customer, but after this incident, I do not feel welcome or safe returning. Racism and prejudice should never be tolerated—especially from someone in a leadership position responsible for serving the public. I intend to report this incident to both corporate and the local township, as no customer should ever be subjected to discriminatory language or treatment. I hope appropriate action is taken to ensure no one else has to experience what I did.

  Was there recently and at checkout two of the items I bought at a sale price rang up as full price. Went the service desk and was reimbursed without a problem but really you can do better.

  Terrible management at this location. They lock half of their doors, especially the ones closest and most convenient to the parking lot in the street at 8 PM when they’re open until midnight.

  Last night around 10 PM, I was shopping at this location as I have been for the past five years. I’ve always enjoyed coming here great employees and a welcoming atmosphere. I was with my fiancé, and we were laughing at a TikTok video when, out of nowhere, a front-end associate named Stephanie rudely called out from down the aisle in the frozen section, telling us to “please behave yourselves.” This completely caught us by surprise, as we were simply laughing. Feeling uncomfortable, we grabbed the last of our items and left. I’ve never had an issue here before, which makes this experience even more disappointing.
