I am writing to formally report a very concerning experience at Dairy Queen location in Elmhurst .
On Free Cone Day, I visited with my siblings and boyfriend and placed an order for multiple cones. The employee who assisted us was extremely rude and unprofessional. However, what concerns me most is the lack of basic food safety practices I witnessed.
After handling cash, the employee did not wash or sanitize his hands before preparing our order. He then proceeded to handle the ice cream cones directly with his bare hands, with his fingers touching the cones. Additionally, none of the employees appeared to be wearing gloves or following proper sanitation procedures.
This is completely unacceptable, especially when handling ready-to-eat food. This kind of behavior poses a serious health risk and reflects very poorly on your establishment.
I expect this issue to be addressed promptly. I strongly urge management to review food safety protocols with staff and ensure this does not happen again. I would also appreciate a response regarding what actions will be taken.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I stopped by for free cone day. The place was very organized with its own line for free cones. The person at the register was very nice and quick. They also didn't run out of ice cream by 4pm which was a huge plus!

Average ice cream place in Elmhurst. Expected more from it but they were just ok. I think they need to improve their customer service, not that they were rude, but not very friendly. Maybe hire more teenagers who can relate more with them. It's in a great location in the middle of downtown Elmhurst, right next to the fountain. Interiors are also drab, need more appealing ambience.

The most sour, unfriendly customer service, they are so mad you even walk in. The place is filthy. I know they don't clean that ice cream machine because the ice cream tastes off every single time I get it. Hardly give you any toppings and they taste old and stale. Love Dairy Queen but not even worth dealing with the terrible service and terrible quality ice cream. Don't know how this place passes food service inspections. This DQ literally couldn't care any less about customers satisfaction or the quality of their product.
