Pat C was working one of the registers, and he is one of the nicest most pleasant people. I wish him and his jewel the best and I will be coming here more often.

I love Jewel stores. I’m there practically every other day. I live in Lemont so I’m at that location most. The one problem is with the deli. Even when the buckets of wings or tenders are on sale, they almost never have any. The Downers Grove location is the worst. I take a number, wait in line and when my turn comes I’m told they aren’t frying anymore. This is at 4:30 in the evening when people are coming home from work and need something for dinner. The employee with the pink hair that’s usually doing the chicken fryer is always snippy with an attitude. If he doesn’t like the job then find another department to work in. Reason I stop at the Downers store is because I pass there on my way from work. The Lemont store deli hours vary upon employee availability. I don’t know if it’s because the deli people are too lazy to fry more or the cleaning up part is a bothersome to them. Number two problem….. no matter which Jewel you go to there is only, ONLY two check out lanes available and it’s ALWAYS 3 and 5. The express lane is never open and self checkout is a pain when you have a cart full. Bagging area has limited space, and the darn voice comes on “remove item from bagging area”. You have to wait for an employee to walk over, it’s such a hassle. If I’m spending that kind of money and I have to do all the work………..forget it! There should be a discount for using the self checkout because you’re doing all the work.🤣 Problem number three, …… my family and I are big soda drinkers so when the sale specifies “must by 3” or 4 , that’s no problem because I do buy that much. And for soda drinkers they already know what it tastes like. To Albertsons management: I don’t think they should have the “must by” on the flavored seltzer waters. There are numerous brands, tons of brands. When you are forced to buy the specified amount for the sale and if you don’t know what it tastes like, you’re a first time buyer, your reluctant to pick it up. I think you would have much more , MUCH MORE sales if you had a single 8pk. or 12pk. whatever at the discounted price. The sign will read example…….. $4.99 must buy 4 or $7.99 or $8.99 each. I hesitate to buy it for $7.99 for the first time without knowing what it tastes like. Sales I think would be much more greater. Just a thought 🥴
