  We visited Wayback Burgers yesterday afternoon after I had a taste for a burger & milkshake but nothing local looked appealing (we live about 25 minutes south of Darien). Price was great for a family of 4 and my kiddos ate everything they were given which is awesome. Together...we tried the grilled cheese, fries, 2 different milkshakes, and the Bourbon Bacon cheeseburger & seasoned fries were delicious. Still thinking about it today and will definitely be back.

  The food was absolutely amazing — burgers made fresh to order, and every bite was worth the wait. What really set this place apart was the hospitality. Getting to meet Julie and the warmth she brought made us feel genuinely welcomed and took the whole experience to another level. Highly recommend!

  3/10 chili dog. Just look at that slop. One of the worst I've ever seen. Only getting a 3 out of 10 because the hot dog was actually very good. But presentation and amount of chili and practically no cheese is atrocious. Also for some moronic reason they put the top bun on your burger upside down so the buttered and grilled side is what you are touching to pick it up. You get your hands instantly greasy and all the toppings slide around because they are in contact with a round surface instead of the flat side. For a company that touts about "Going way back to the days when things were done right" they might wanna take a look at how a hamburger was constructed the right way Apparently the owner doesnt understand basic speech as outlined in my review. Everything I had a problem with is clearly defined. Gonna have to translate this review to Czech Apparently.... 3/10 chilli hot dog. Jen se podívejte na tu šťávu. Jedna z nejhorších, co jsem kdy viděl. Dostal jsem jen 3 z 10, protože hot dog byl ve skutečnosti velmi dobrý. Ale prezentace a množství chilli a prakticky žádný sýr je otřesné. Taky z nějakého pitomého důvodu vám otočili horní housku na burgeru dnem vzhůru, takže se ho dotýkáte máslové a grilované strany, abyste ho zvedli. Okamžitě se vám umastí ruce a všechny polevy se kloužou, protože jsou v kontaktu s kulatým povrchem místo s plochým. Na firmu, která se chlubí „návratem do dob, kdy se věci dělaly správně“, by se možná měli podívat, jak se hamburger správně staví. Majitel zřejmě nerozumí základní řeči, jak je uvedeno v mé recenzi. Také nevím, jak se překládá otazník z češtiny, ale podařilo se jim to. Takže to asi musím dát do Google překladače.

  I’ve tried a lot of burgers across the US and this place ranks right up there with the best of them. The burgers and all the toppings are fresh and made to order. The burger patties are smashed and cooked to perfection. Some places use really thick buns but the ones used here are just right. It’s the perfect bun to meat ratio. The owner is super friendly and welcoming. It’s a must try if you love burgers.

  Upon arrival we were immediately told to “give her a minute in a snarky tone” because she was taking phone orders, usually a greeting of some sort is appreciated. We waited 35 minutes, THIRTY FIVE, for 2 burgers with fries and 2 kids meals, fried pickles and onion rings, pretty bizarre for such a simple order, it was not busy at all. When I asked her for their signature “wayback gold sauce” she looked at me like I had 2 heads and then told me she had no idea what I was talking about?!… am i hallucinating or do they not have a secret sauce they called “wayback golf sauce” ??? They have had it every single time we’ve gone for the last few years… Seems pretty understaffed, the girl upfront was taking orders in person, on the phone, making shakes, and also helping prep food in the kitchen even though there were 3 guys cooking and only one of her. she was extremely overwhelmed and understandably not in the best mood. The restaurant had plenty of open tables, but most of them were f.i.l.t.h.y leaving the pickings pretty slim, we got a high top that was decent but the floor underneath was extremely sticky, I’m talking covered in stickiness. Completely different experience than 3-4 months ago. The food itself was decent, but after waiting so long & the experience we had it kind of ruined it. Extremely disappointing because we I was craving a Wayback classic all day!!
