If you’re ever in Chicago this is a MUST the atmosphere is clean and the vibe is like no other. My family ordered the salmon filet, salmon bites, yams, Mac and cheese, the turkey sandwich and the burger. All of gave it a 10/10, the food was delicious and flavorful and the portion sizes were big, truly a bang for your buck. Our waiter Malik was phenomenal he has amazing customer service, knowledgeable of the menu and overall such a pleasure to have as a waiter. The bartender Bobby also was amazing the drinks were delicious and his energy was amazing. If you come l guarantee you won’t regret it, and see if you can get Malik and Bobby you will not be disappointed. Will be back again ☺️

We drove 1 1/2 hours to try this place and it Did Not Disappoint! Upon entrance your greeted and seated they have tables and bar seating( we chose the bar) they have a nice selection of drinks and towers. THE FOOD!!! EXCELLENT!! I had catfish cabbage, sweet potatoes and cornbread, my friend had salmon, mac-n-cheese, sweet potatoes and cornbread we could stop eating out of each other's plates. The couple next to us order honey hot salmon bites when I tell you our ride home was so uncomfortable and sleepy from stuffing ourselves we cant wait to go back. Yes it was pricey but EVERYTHING downtown Chicago is but it was still worth it. The L Station is a must try!

Man I hate to tear down a black owned establishment, but I have to be honest about my experience. We waited about 6 months to FINALLY get reservations for 4, we had to wait for over an hour & half just to get the appetizers. They brought the appetizers and the main dish out at the same time lol. The food was pretty good, not the best but definitely not worth an hour wait!! The drinks had good flavor but they were definitely light on the liquor. The waiter who's name was Malik was awesome, cant blame him for anything, he gave us free shots to make up for the loooong wait. But the kicker is this, our bill was $450 and they didn't even take a dime off or offer any type of compensation for the bad experience. They just apologized. Sorry but we will ever go here again. Super disappointed!!!

We found this spot on TikTok while traveling from Detroit to Chicago for the weekend, looking for some real soul food. As soon as we walked in, Malek seated us with professionalism and made us feel welcomed right away. I ordered the catfish meal with macaroni and cheese and yams, and finished it off with peach cobbler. I can be picky, but everything was on point. The food came out hot, looked amazing, and tasted even better. Every bite was worth it. The music selection set the tone and the whole place had a great vibe from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for some good food. We will for sure be back next time we’re in Chicago.

    1. The food wasn't that good. I had the appetizer wings and loaded fries and it just wasn't that good, especially the fries. 2. My 4 wings and loaded fries cost $60 folks!!!! 60 freaking bucks for 4 wings and a thing of loaded fries. I was told if I added onions it was no charge..my bill came and there was a $5 charges for adding onions to my fries. A WHOLE ONION AT THE STORE ISN'T $5 3. Our table was straight wobbly. They have two tables directly by the front door so if you sit there prepare to be cold everytime someone opens the door. They have another table right by the ladies restroom so be prepared to deal with that everytime someone opens the door you're literally looking in the female bathroom. 4. This is the problem I have with eating out...I literally can afford it, trust me I'm overseas every two weeks but why would anyone on EARTH be okay with spending that level of money on 4 chicken wings and fries? 5. The service charge I was told was for the bartender and cooks so if we needed to tip the server that's extra. It's 18% service charge PER CHECK not per table. LAST BUT NOT LEAST...as much as this food cost you would think we could have gotten silverware with our food right..we got cheap plasticware when other tables to real silverware. We were warned by others who've eaten here and I'm in town visiting but this is just disappointing. I'm super mad when I go to black owned establishments and have to hear music that's derogatory. Like, I listen to it but I'm not sure whose the audience they are trying to cater to cause I really don't care to hear it as I'm out eating at an establishment when I know it's plenty of black music that is better. I will not be visiting here again.
