Genuinely my fav karaoke bar in Chicago! We come here for every birthday and big dinner. Come here at any chance !
Had the chicken and the rice cakes. A bit more on the pricier edge and wasn't super amazing per se. The cocktail drinks are good though. I liked the mango specialty cocktail. The alcohol taste wasn't super strong there, so if you like mango, some ice cream, and less of an alcohol taste I would recommend this one. The specialty cocktails are all $15+
They played more chill kpop songs on screen but to do karaoke, you would have to go and rent a room out.

The food was absolutely amazing! I recommend the Bossam! The service was great too. Servers tended to all of me and my friends’ needs quickly and well! The atmosphere is amazing too with good music playing all hours of the day! Your next hang out/celebration should be done at Tak Koream Bistro!

Editing after they responded back to my review: i find the owner’s responses to all bad reviews to contain nothing but excuses. I don’t care if there was an open table issue. Frankly, that’s not my problem. Even if it did cause confusion, why did you tell us we had to leave even though you knew our reservation was until midnight? I’ve also worked in the restaurant industry for years, i know the difference between a host & server. But any employee should atleast acknowledge customers when they walk in. It doesn’t take away from tending to your tables by saying “hi someone will be right with you”. Also, don’t ask me to reach out to you. You really should be reaching out to me to rectify the situation. To reiterate, we spent almost $1600. We 100% shouldve received better service, and any other bar/restaurant wouldve comped or sent something out. ESPECIALLY after the mix up with the booking.
I emailed them to book a karaoke room from 8pm-12am to celebrate my birthday. They asked me to put a credit card down to confirm the booking, so i did. Then while we were there, at 10:30pm they told me since I took too long to confirm the booking, someone else had reserved the room for 11pm so we’d have to leave. I told them I was never told that when we were emailing, if that was the case then they should have told me before they asked me to put my credit card down! We should not have been inconvenienced with that. That’s on the business. They should have either let me know while we were emailing back and forth, before asking me to put my credit card down, or they should have offered to put us or the other group in a different room and cover the cost difference once they realized their mistake in double booking.
Service was also HORRIBLE. When we first walked in, we stood by the door for awhile as servers just walked right by us and didnt even acknowledge us. In the room, we would ring the call button and wait awhile, no one would come. So we would have to ring it again. This happened multiple times. I get theyre busy, but they shouldve been better staffed then. They also did not initially give us enough plates and bowls for all of us so some of us had to share because they took too long to bring more. And when we asked for water, for 11 people, they brought 1 small water pitcher.
Food portions are also incredibly small for how much it costs. Other korean bars like Yeowoosai and New Village offer much bigger portions for a better price. (Honestly this is a smaller point, but worth mentioning in case others are looking to host larger groups here) the food is yummy though.
The song selections for karaoke are also not that great. They dont have newer songs, and they dont really have too many songs of other artists in general. We would look up an artist and like 3 songs would come up. Maybe their korean selection is better idk
Lastly, I could not believe they charged us an extra $30 for staying 15 min over after the poor service and them trying to kick us out an hour before our reservation ended. We also cleaned up all our dishes and utensils, my husband stacked them all really nicely at the corner of the table so it could be easy for the servers. So to be stingy and charge us extra after all the inconvenience they caused us is honestly ridiculous. Especially considering we spent almost $1600.
We celebrated a birthday here today, and everything was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt lively and welcoming — great energy, Korean music playing in the background and a fun vibe that made the evening feel special.
The food was outstanding. We tried a wide variety of dishes including bossam, jokbal, nakgopse, gopchang jongol, tteokbokki, galbijim, pork tofu kimchi, and fried chicken. Every single dish was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients was clearly very high — you could really taste it in the meat, which was incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared. The fried chicken was crispy and coated in an amazing sauce. The seafood and intestine stew was also rich, deep, and full of flavor.
A special thank you to our server, whose recommendations we followed — and we’re so glad we did. He was attentive, friendly, and very professional, which made the whole experience even better.
Overall, this is a fantastic place with a fun atmosphere, incredible food, and excellent service. I highly recommend it both for special celebrations and for a casual dinner you will definitely leave happy.
