Today was my first visit at Soul Vibez Signature. Much more spacious than their other location on Chicago Ave. The music playing in the background was on point. My beverage of choice is the Fab Mule cocktail; it didn’t disappoint. For the appetizer, we went with the fried green tomatoes. They were freshly made and spicy too. For starters, the jerk chicken egg rolls were good. I tried them at the Chicago Ave location and wanted them again. Now for the entrees, we waited a while before the food arrived. My entree was the blackened catfish and grits, with a side of mac & cheese. The catfish was decent; the grits I didn’t like. It had a tang to it, as if they used sour cream or cream cheese in the grits. The mac & cheese was good. My date ordered a butter cake to go, but we waited like 30 mins because the waitress forgot to get the cake.

I had a small issue with my meal during my visit, but what really stood out was how the owner handled it. They were attentive, kind, and made sure everything was corrected quickly and professionally. That level of care speaks volumes. And I have to say—the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. Beyond that, I truly love this place—the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is consistently friendly and welcoming. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers’ experience. One hiccup didn’t take away from what is overall a great spot, and I’ll definitely be back!

Let me preface this by saying I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews. However, I had a 4pm reservation, arrived at 4:08, seated at 4:09, waited 14 minutes to be greeted by a waitress and immediately placed my order at 4:25. All I ordered was a lemonade and the fried catfish. I sat there 45 minutes waiting for my food, and the waitress told me no less than 4 times that “it’s coming”. Mind you, it’s just me, myself and I at the table. I finally asked for a manager and was told “we don’t have one here at the moment” (??????). It’s been an hour at this point and I’ve watched the people around me come in, order, AND eat so I’m ready to go. Suddenly my food appears :/ and I asked for a to-go box and the check. Well, there’s an automatic gratuity as well. So I got lemonade, fried catfish and a side of irritation for $45 to kick off my birthday celebration. I will say, the mac n cheese is good! My actual waitress was nice as well so I don’t know what the disconnect was, but waiting an hour for some catfish is insane. So do with this information what you will. Best of luck out there.

I visited Soul Vibez on Saturday evening April 11, 2026 and while the food was very good and the restaurant is beautifully designed, the service was disappointing. We were seated next to two young children whose loud iPads and repeated bumping into our table made it difficult to enjoy our meal. I understand kids will be kids, but it was disruptive and not ideal for paying guests dining in. Our waitress also changed my friend’s order into something different than what she originally requested, which was frustrating since no recommendation was asked for. Later, after finishing our first drinks, we tried to order another round around 9:40 p.m. and were told the bar had already closed at 8:45 p.m. We were never given a last call for drinks or informed the kitchen had closed, which felt like poor communication. The owner came into the dining room during our visit but did not acknowledge guests seated nearby, which came across as unfriendly. On top of that, our waitress took a long time to bring the check, collect payment, and return the card, even after the restaurant had mostly emptied. I eventually had to get up and bring my card to her myself. To make matters worse, an 18% gratuity was automatically added for a table of two, which did not reflect the level of service we received. Overall: beautiful space and tasty food, but poor service and lack of attentiveness made the experience disappointing. I would not return unless service improves.

Party of 5 visited on Saturday with 8pm reservation (RSVP highly encouraged). 5 minute wait to be seated. Waitress Jillian was great! There's is automatic 18% gratuity. Although the restaurant was booked, we did not wait too long for our food. We didn't try the drinks, but there's a full bar in the restaurant. The main items were the star (stuffed salmon, branzino, wings and blackened fish). The side dishes were ok. The Branzino dish is delicious but does not come with sides. Very cute aesthetic and picture worthy. I did notice lots of customers, myself included, were slipping going down the stairs to the bathroom. The food has to come upstairs from the kitchen. There was a floor wet sign, but that can become a serious issue.
