This place has some pretty tasty BBQ. They are a bit pricey but it's worth it for the most part; they are very stingy with the portions, as pertaining to the sides, not the meat.
I usually get rib tips and brisket. The rib tips are very tasty but are not cooked consistently. The first time I had them they were sooo tender and soft; softest rib tips I've ever eaten. The second time I ordered them they were still tasty but much harder; was kinda disappointed. The brisket is the best I've ever had. It's always tender and delicious. I've tried the wings, which are not typically flavored (peach tea smoked and chimmichurry) and they were not to my liking. I havent tried the links (sausage) as they do not sell traditional bbq hot links but links that have unusual foodie type flavors (cajun smoked and jalapeño cheddar).
The sides are pretty tasty as well but as I mentioned previously they are very small portions for a relatively high price. I usually get the mac & cheese, which is okay (I've had better), the collard greens which are very good and the sweet potato corn bread which is delicious; it has this brown sugar crust which makes it almost like a dessert. I had the bourbon baked beans once but did not care for the flavor, I prefer more traditionally flavored baked beans.
All in all I really enjoy Sanders, just not every item on the menu. I've eaten there several times and will continue to do so in the future. Would recommend.

The food is really good no doubt! The prices are really high but for good food, I will pay. There is no excuse for them to be out of anything and on a Saturday when they know there will be a lot of business. They have a list at the register of items they do not have. How are they out but they are charging these high prices, they should never be out of anything. The 1st item I asked for was out and then the 2nd item was out, at that point I walked out. The bathroom had a big brown roll of paper towels that was not in a dispenser so everyone is touching it. Come on Sanders do better

I went to this establishment about 3 PM on a Wednesday. There weren’t a lot of customers and I had an opportunity to receive great customer service in regards to the menu and offerings, but I must say the food was just OK very tender, but lacked flavor, including the sauces, sweet potato cornbread was a thick cornmeal cornbread with some sweet potato flavoring. I was a bit disappointed that fries were not part of the meal, but considered a side. I will honestly say that I prefer Wilma’s on Wabash to Sanders.

Unfortunately I'm a follower so i came to check this dark and gloomy place out... I can't rate the food because at about 5:30 they announced they had ran out of food... in one case a man had already paid for his food with his debit card (they don't except cash)...the cashier told the man he wasn't aware of them running out of food before he had took his order..so now the man will have to wait up to 5 business days to receive his refund and then the unpleasant young lady working on the food had the audacity to get upset because the gentleman who had been charged for a meal he wouldn't receive was angry... the nerve of her!! I really wanted to support this black owned business but unfortunately I can't.. they're not very organized nor prepared... I don't see longevity in this establishment..

Went to this place based off the reviews of others and the social media presence. Yes the space is nice. But if you order to go you have to walk around three doors down to pick up. Within placing my order at 7:12 p.m. and picking up 7:42 p.m. (this includes parking, travel and locating where to pick up order) ny food was ice cold because it was a to-go order I discovered upon my arrival back home. I ordered the large rib tips that was partial fat pieces, burnt ends, and semi cold. With large fries which were old and stsle tasting so I didnt eat those. Side order of Mac and cheese good texture but ice cold. Side order of the collard greens were definitely cold. So question for me will be; will I return back? Maybe. Could I have driven back? No that would have been an inconvenience for me. Definitely suggest just order in and dine because as i stood waiting to find out where to pick up my order. The food appeared hot and others were eating. But I definitely won't be ordering directly for to-go because the consistency was not there. And i ordered a slab of ribs which was $50 and it was trimmed down thin. But the sauce was good and some of the pieces(3 pieces of the slab) were tender and falling off the bone. Yes there are some pieces consumed from the rib tip plate like three and a taste of the slab of ribs (one bone)
