  Good customer service. Alcapurrias has to much food color/season, little meat and not crispy. I like to taste the vegetables/viandas. My opinion. Thank you.

  I use to love this place but now I think the service is changing I ordered through uber and past to times they forgot the beans with fine but this time they gave me an old or maybe uncooked pastelillo :(

  We visit the western suburbs of Chicago often, and since we also attend church on the South Side, we decided this time to finally stop and enjoy some Puerto Rican food. Let me just say—we’re so glad we did. We’ve been on the hunt for a great jibarito ever since El Borinquen on California closed, and I can confidently say… we found it. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was lively—salsa music playing, a birthday party going on, and just a great energy all around. It felt authentic and welcoming. Between my wife, my daughter, and me, we ordered the pork chop, carne guisada, two bacalaitos, a jibarito, and a Malta. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the difference compared to the jibaritos we’ve had in Des Moines—this was on another level. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for real Puerto Rican flavor in Chicago!

The music the energy the way everyone greets you it’s got that authentic Puerto Rican warmth that you can’t fake. The food is next level. Everything tastes like it came straight out of someone’s abuela’s kitchen. The seasoning is on point portions are generous and every bite actually has flavor not just heat but real depth. You can tell they care about what they’re serving. What I loved most is that it doesn’t feel commercialized or watered down. It’s genuine. It’s soulful. It’s the kind of place you go once and immediately start thinking about when you’re coming back. If you’re looking for real Puerto Rican food with authentic vibes and zero shortcuts this is it.I don’t say this lightly this spot is the real deal.
