We can always count on Mastro's for a proper steak dinner. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the options for each course. Impressive wine list and the service is absolutely top notch!

Went place was beautiful but lamb chops was very dry sent them back got a medium steak and it ended up being well done with a burnt crisp on top. Macaroni was dry as well. Breadsticks was like eating a can of salt!!!! I wouldnt Recommend on top of being on the toilet that night as well!!!!

Came here with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday, our server, Blake was amazing! He delivered great service and made sure we were taken care of. The service team was also fantastic, they were on top of bringing us clean plates, silverware, and water. The manager Edgar came by to check in and asked how everything was going, he was so welcoming and made our night. We will be coming back!!

My husband and I have been going to Mastro's Steakhouse quite a bit lately, and it has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always amazing, but what really stands out is the service. We met the manager, Kim, during one of our visits and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. She checked on us during our anniversary dinner and made sure everything was perfect. When we returned a few weeks later, she actually remembered us and stopped by our table to say hello. That personal touch really meant a lot and made the experience feel special. Our favorite appetizer is the sautéed shrimp, we order it every time. My husband had the lemon pepper chicken and I had the herb roasted branzino, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. And we can’t forget the butter cake for dessert… it is so good and the perfect way to end the meal. Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. We will definitely keep coming back!

We’ve been dining at Mastro’s for about 10 years and have always considered it one of our favorite places for a special night out. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a very disappointing experience that ended up overshadowing what should have been a great evening. When we arrived, the restaurant welcomed us back with two glasses of champagne, which was a nice gesture, although we’ve never ordered champagne there before and it’s not really something we drink. Still, it was thoughtful and appreciated. The issue started when my filet arrived. I had ordered it butterflied, but it wasn’t. I pointed this out to the waiter, and instead of explaining what they planned to do, he simply handed me a side plate to move the steak onto. It wasn’t clear whether they intended to take just the steak or everything. Since my husband’s steak and all of our sides were already on the table, I politely mentioned that we prefer to eat together and asked if they could take everything back and bring it out together once the steak was corrected. At that point the staff member gave a very visible sigh and took the plates away. Everything came back out in under two minutes — which immediately made it obvious that nothing had actually been addressed. The steak, fries, asparagus, and even the plates were cold. We immediately asked if we could please have the food brought back warm. The same staff member appeared clearly irritated, grabbed the plates abruptly, and took them away again. That interaction alone was uncomfortable and frankly surprising at a restaurant of this caliber. The manager came over shortly afterward. He was professional and polite, and once the food returned it was finally hot and prepared correctly. We were able to enjoy the rest of the meal, had dessert and after-dinner sherry. At some point during our meal our waiter eventually returned to ask if things were better. However, the overall experience had already been affected. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen during the entire situation and only appeared again once the corrected food arrived. More importantly, the visible annoyance and attitude from the staff member handling the plates was disappointing. Mistakes happen — that’s not the issue. What makes the difference is how they are handled, and being treated as though we were inconveniencing the staff simply for wanting warm food and to dine together really took away from the evening. We still think highly of Mastro’s and will likely return in the future, but this experience was unfortunate — especially when you’re spending over $500 on dinner and expecting the level of service the restaurant is known for. It’s the first time in a decade of dining there that we’ve had anything like this happen. For the time being, we’ll probably explore some of the other great steakhouses around the Loop — like Chop House, Smith & Wollensky, and others — and hopefully the next visit to Mastro’s will feel more like the experiences we’ve had there for the past ten years.
