  This is literally one of the worst Jewels in the city, I don’t understand how it has not been upgraded. It’s always a mess, completely overpriced, aisles are always clogged, the store is falling apart. This Wicker Park location needs a complete and total overhaul renovation.

  Nightmare of an experience. Been shopping here for the last year to only watch it spiral into a worse experience every time. What Jewel does well in deals is gutted by the inability to navigate aisles not marked, staff clueless to where inventory is, and produce selections that are either rotting or nonexistent.

  Absolutely terrible order pickup side of things and even worse customer support. This location frequently forgets to place items in the car, to the point where half my items were missing in one order. The customer support is just as brutal. As someone who's unable to walk, I can't just go back to the store easily when they do this, and tried to get a refund, or them deliver it for me. One automated service, one chat with a rep, multiple unanswered email replies and 3 different calls later, they denied my refund request. There goes a hundred dollars, shop anywhere else

  Editing my review. Thank you for hearing us and adding some stuff back. You're really going to get rid of the Passover / Jewish section the same week of passover, but keep every other ethnic food category in the section? You can claim it's because of remodeling all you want but that feels completely dishonest, especially when you have several barronly stocked clearance sections scattered throughout the store. There's clearly more than enough room for it. Say I'm playing the victim card all you want, but this feels targeted.

  To save money, nearly every grocery store seems to be doing its restocking during daytime shopping hours instead of at night. This Jewel has really gone overboard, though. Most of the aisles are clogged with huge pallets at all hours of the day. I find myself not buying things that are behind them, having no desire to play stevedore, and opting more often for the Mariano's on Chicago or the Aldi on Milwaukee -- where there are fewer obstructions and it's easier to push my cart around and shop in peace.
