  Worst management no self check and only 1 or 2 lines open for billing it literally takes half n hour to 40 mins time buy a water of bottle

  The lines are all the way back to the steaks sometimes. They tried to accused me of stealing one day because I was black carrying my gym bag.. I reported all of this to corporate and they came down hard on everyone. They took my concern seriously and I very much appreciate that. I am a preferred customer from long time ago so I trust the brands. We need our neighborhood Jewel in this community. I frequent this store almost everyday for my essentials. This store is not the best Jewel but above all I love Jewel for the deals and coupons. They really help me and my family and I refer my closest friends to shop there for deals.

  Absolute worst Jewels in Chicago, You get excellent see on 61st/Cottage. I made it there at 11:04 to get food for lunch I was in line 30 minutes, the manager walked back see new staff struggling to served ppl waiting, offered no assistance. Finally got food, waiting in kind line, then the cashier system froze, the same manager offer no assistance. He shared I have to get the line down in customer service. I stepped over to customer service, he checked out three gentlemen before me, when I get there, he said that he could not check me out because I had food. I just witnessed you take care two before me with food. I shared I’ve been here since 11:04 it is 11:52 my lunch ends at 12, you can’t check me out, you can’t do anything for me. I’m sorry all I can offer you is to get in line. That’s not offering me anything but bad service so I left with nothing. Everyone in management don’t need to be managing.

  I am an out of town vistor and JO is my preferred place to grocery shop. On March 22 2026 while shopping a staff member walked up to me and other surrounding customers and requested we leave the store because computer services were down, which meant we would not be able to purchase items we had shopped for, she also said at that point it had been 40 minutes since they shut down and it was not certain when things would resume. I asked my sister if she heard an intercom announcement, she replied, NO!! Also, no one when we arrived was outside informing customers of the computer niche upon entering!!! We had shopped at least 25 minutes at that point. I recall this happening in a Michigan Meijer and at least in line customers were compensated $20 coupon to use when need. I told my sister as a courtesy at least customers should be allowed one item free from their cart. People utilized gas, time and the fact they support the establishment should have shown appreciation!!!
