  There wasn't anyone at the registers at 9:30 am so I had to self checkout. The doofus that was at self checkout kept engaging with my already irritated autistic toddler even though I told him that he was not in the mood. He sat there, watched me ring my items up, and still printed out his own copy of my receipt after I paid. The guy then follows me outside to shout across the parking lot asking if I paid for the powerades that were in my cart. If you were monitoring me the whole transaction, even printing out your own copy of my receipt, why come outside and harass me about something you know I paid for. Very unprofessional, embarrassing, and unnecessary. If I was that concerning, why not hop your simple behind to a register and ring me up yourself?

  Very nice workers, good quality food. Takes forever! 3 people in line at deli, 9 workers - took 25min to get a 1/2lb of turkey. Wild.

  Your employees act like hawks over the Pokémon Vending Machine. Was in there to check it out tonight. Upon entering, employees standing at machine. Upon leaving, different employee standing at machine. Do better!

  This is the second time I’ve gone to jewel recently where there were no staffed checkout lanes. The first time (at the other Irving park location) we did the self checkout and it was a nightmare. We do big shops and had a baby with us and the self checkout is so buggy and finicky the staff member overseeing the area had to come help us over and over again. He told us next time to ask for a lane to be opened. So that’s what we did this time at this location and while we did get a cashier after asking for one, we did not get a bagger. When asked if there are certain nights we should avoid to not run into this issue again the cashier said “I mean this in the nicest way possible but it’s after 8 pm” (as if to say “what do you expect?”) Not trying to get him in trouble because this is clearly a management issue, but I expect if my groceries cost the same at 4pm as they do at 8pm then I should receive the same level of service. Your store is open til midnight. I could understand if we were checking out at 11:45 but not 8. Also worth mentioning your new digital coupons (the ones on screens not paper) kept clipping the wrong items and in the bagging chaos I didn’t get a chance to see if I got the correct discounts or not. We left these last two shops seriously wondering if we should take our money elsewhere.
