Up until a couple days ago, I would have rated Giordano's a 10, but my experience last Sunday was enough to make me no longer a customer and Giordano's no longer my favorite pizza place. It actually had nothing to do with the pizza itself, which is still fantastic, but the delivery, which was horrid. I ordered at 7:20 pm and was told it would be about 90 minute for delivery, which was fine. 90 minutes later, a Door Dash driver showed up with an order that was not mine - same name, but not my phone number and not my address. The driver neither spoke nor understood English, so it was hard to explain with my limited Spanish what the problem was. I called the store and they apologized and promised me a new one within 25 or so minutes. Okay. 35 minutes later, I called and asked for an update. The driver just picked it up, I was told. I went to the hotel lobby to wait, figuring it would be just a few minutes, since the hotel was only a couple blocks from the restaurant. 15 minutes later, no pizza. I called again and they said it was showing as delivered. Not to me, it wasn't. I waited on the phone with the night manager for another 15 minutes until the pizza finally showed up, an hour and ten minutes after my 25 minute promise and more than half an hour after the pickup. I told the manager that I expected it to be ice cold by this time, and he assured me that they packed it in a thermal bag. I was right. The pizza came in to me not in a thermal bag, the box was ice cold and when I opened it, the pizza was barely room temperature. Of course, I did not pay for it (with the concurrence of the manager), and I was lucky to have a microwave handy to be able to have warm pizza. Additionally, in my previous orders over the past 20 or so years, when Giordano's did their own delivery, they always sent plates and utensils and cheese and crushed peppers. Nothing like that this time - just cold pizza. It's so disappointing that my favorite pizza place has outsourced their delivery to a clearly incompetent service. I'll be in Chicago again in a couple weeks, staying near Giordano's, but probably will not order again. Whatever cost-cutting was planned by doing away with their own delivery people (who were always excellent), is cutting customers. I hope Giordano's realizes their mistake before it's too late.

Delivery to local hotel half mile away… requested plates, utensils and extra napkins- received none. Requested driver deliver directly to room- received a text… “I’m here”… meaning outside at a side door. Ordered a Little Italy salad that had zero dressing. Delivery updated multiple times to exceed original delivery time by 15 minutes. Contacted the restaurant to provide feedback and was told- “Thank you for the feedback”. No remedy, no apology, nothing. Paid $70 for rude customer service.
