Visiting Giordano’s was one of the highlights of my Chicago trip. I had heard a lot about deep-dish pizza, but trying it here was a completely different experience.
From the moment the pizza arrived, it looked amazing—thick, cheesy, and perfectly baked. The first bite was unforgettable. The crust was buttery, and the layers of cheese and sauce were so rich and flavorful. It’s not just pizza, it actually feels like a full meal in itself.
I instantly fell in love with their deep-dish pizza. It’s heavy, satisfying, and totally worth the wait. If you’re in Chicago, this is definitely a must-try spot.

First, even though we had a reservation, we had to wait at least 45 mins for a table and it was chaotic waiting since there was no instruction on where to wait.
Secondly, when we finally sat down, we were told that the pizza would take about 45-60 mins. The waiter (big puffy curly hair especially to the sides of his head) was one of the worse I’ve ever experienced: dismissive, preoccupied, rude and unprofessional. He did things such as serving drinks by giving me directly in my hands instead of putting it on the table, and slamming the drinks on the table for others at the table. He also hovered over me as I paid to see what tip I would give.
Lastly, the food wasn’t good. The appetizer chicken had too much bbq sauce, the deep dish pizza was too salty, and the cheese was not tasty. Completely overrated. I do not recommend this place for pizza or just to eat.

Walking into a deep dish pizza place in Chicago almost feels like a small ceremony. You know you are committing to something heavy, something slow, and probably something worth waiting for. The room had that comfortable restaurant noise where everyone seems a little excited about the food coming out.
The Chicago stuffed deep dish pizza arrived looking almost unreasonable in size. Thick crust, a mountain of cheese, and bright tomato sauce layered on top. The first slice was basically a full meal. The cheese stretch alone felt dramatic enough to pause the conversation.
We also had a sausage deep dish, which somehow made things even richer. The sausage layer had that slightly spiced flavor that balanced the cheese nicely. Between slices we kept reaching for the garlic bread, which might have been the simplest thing on the table but still perfect with the sauce.
The house salad ended up being the quiet hero. After all that pizza it was surprisingly welcome. By the time we finished, everyone was leaning back in their chairs doing that slow conversation you have after eating too much.

I’ve had my fair share of deep dish, but this visit to Giordano’s really stood out. The pizza was exactly what you want! Perfect sauce and crust that never misses!
What really made the night though, was our server, David. From the second we sat down, he was on top of everything. He knew the menu inside and out, gave us the perfect recommendations on appetizers, drinks and deep dish size.
It’s rare to get that level of attentive, high-energy service when a place is this busy. If you’re heading here, definitely ask for David’s section. He’s a pro and made a great meal even better.

Stopped by Giordano’s on Rush Street and honestly, it lived up to the hype. We knew deep dish takes a while, so we were prepared, but it was definitely worth the wait. The pizza came out hot with that thick, cheesy center and a really good, slightly crispy crust. Super filling—one slice is basically a meal.
Service was solid too. Our server checked in just enough without being annoying and kept us updated on the wait for the pizza, which I appreciated.
It does get pretty busy, so I’d recommend going with a little patience (or putting your order in early), but overall it was a great experience. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in Chicago.
