- RTRyan TomasoAug 26, 20251.0I stopped in to buy two cookies while waiting for my train and politely asked if I could sit for about an hour and a half to do some homework while I waited for my train. Metra had cancelled a service and I decided to get a snack while I waited for the train to arrive. The employee said it was fine to stay while I waited, but later told me I couldn't sit at the high table (even though l've sat there before with no problem and it wasn't even busy) Then I was told that if I wanted to stay, I would need to buy a sandwich. (This was only 30 minutes in and I didn't do anything wrong.) When I asked the gentleman he said it was alright to stay and NEVER told me it was required to buy a sandwhich. He immediately switched up and kept giving me dirty stares. But, even though I had already had made a purchase as a paying customer. I was respectful, quiet, and not taking up space unnecessarily, but the inconsistent and unfair treatment made me feel unwelcome.
