Had a very unpleasant experience. Ordered the Alfredo pasta with chicken and lamb chops at 8pm. Didn’t get my food until 9:26pm. Mind you the kitchen closes at 9pm. I didn’t even want to drink after that. I had asked for my food to go after waiting 45 minutes in. The server behind the bar said lamb chops take 30-40 minutes. I’ve never had that experience before at a restaurant. Even the people next to me wondered where my food was and they said there’s took a while to come out. I would never want to eat here again. And I received no type of accommodation such as a free drink for waiting, a voucher for next time, something. Like I tried to come and be supportive but honestly I am very dissatisfied. The woman who appeared to be the lead tonight went to check on the status at one point but never came back: I just saw her laughing with other tables. 30-40 for lamb chops is ridiculous and I ended up waiting over an hour just for pasta. & it was not even crowed at the time . I did not feel respected as a customer . I sat there at the bar waiting patiently and it ruined my entire night . All I wanted was to eat food at a decent time and drink. 1/10
This review is based our disappointing experience on Sunday, Feb 15 between 4- 6p...anyone that was there, knows what I'm talking about. One hour to 90min for food (we had been there for 90min already before we found out about this from another server and not from ours). The 35 to 50min wait for drinks (I understand alcohol is a money maker for restaurants, but your bartender focused on "flights" and single drinks suffered...he should balance it out). I know this because we were seated at the elevated table right next to the servers entrance to the bar. And our server Gemell (spelling) said that the "service fee" he added to our check was not his tip, he doesn't get any of that...Really! We are not 'newbies' to dining out. We knew... were you deserving of any of it? Meh!! Do better, young man.
Your restaurant is known for having really good soul food, but lets be real, soul food isn't hard to make, the skill is making it taste good...macaroni n cheese, candy yams and greens are not cooked to order they are made in batches. I know the restaurant is still ironing out some kinks, but this was terrible. I ordered the Alfredo with lamb chops and my husband ordered 4 PC chicken wings w/2sides. When I finally got my food, it was lukewarm, the lamb chops had dried up and the pasta was stuck together..obviously sitting under a heat lamp for a long time...yuk! I didn't send it back, and I'm sure you can guess why. My husband's food arrived 20min later...nothing here to review.
I told my husband there had to be good reason behind this, because it was oddly unacceptable...
Either the chef had no clue how to cook the food or there wasn't one, he was out to lunch, on break, went home....
They were severely understaffed in the kitchen OR...
They had a very large TO-GO order and decided to sacrifice the IN-HOUSE customers????..hmmm!
I can say your restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere and vibe is awesome! The salmon bites were delicious, but the fried green tomatoes tasted like burnt flour. Did we waste our money? Yes! My fault for having high expectations...it was a belated Valentine's day dinner that didn't turn out well.
Your manager acknowledged our concerns and made an adjustment to our bill, thank you.

Read the whole article:
The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful.
The food is average painfully average. The oysters were slightly undercooked as they should’ve been completely chared. The fried green tomatoes were absolutely good. The fried catfish and grits came out like warm.
The biggest thing I would say about this particular location is the vibe and devote. The servers are nice pleasant BUT the kitchen is an absolute chaos. One of our main courses never showed up. They brought the same order for one of our parties twice. For a dinner that starts at 5:30 for 2 people in a facility that was only at 1/3 capacity, no reason why the kitchen should’ve been in such disarray.
The kitchen is in the basement close to the restroom. I saw the chaos, lack or organization and failed leadership. This is your 2nd location? Do better.
They charge 18% gratuity automatically PLUS another 3.5% to use a credit card. At 630, a couple sat next to us and were told 1 hour for food. Did I mention that this location has a 90 minute table time max.
Opening a new location means that you have your best staff serve the location the first 30 days training and preparing everyone. Overall, I’d call 1-2 weeks being open a failure.
$133 lost and a customer that will never come back….

Dining here for the first time last night as part of a birthday celebration I was a little nervous because I read previous reviews on this spot just to get an idea of it and to be honest with you the atmosphere is really nice The food was good the wait staff was nice Kia was our waiter last night she took our orders but I do feel that their service could be better if they had more help it was at least a party of 12 people in Kia was taking the orders by herself they need to have a better system of what table orders what because as they were bringing orders out they didn't know who got what they were bringing orders from other people to our table and vice versa which is why you have the two hour wait times I literally waited an hour and 40 minutes for fried chicken macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes by the time I receive my food everybody in the party had eaten and they were pretty much ready to leave I had to literally pack my food up to bring it home to be fair my meal was comped which I appreciate but that's not the resolution they actually need more weight staff they need a better system with their tables charging somebody 18% gratuity when they have to wait almost 2 hours for their food is crazy work would I give this place another chance I absolutely would but I think they need to hire more help and not have one person order food for an entire party of people
