Nobu Chicago delivers an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The steaks cooked on hot rocks are phenomenal — perfectly seasoned, interactive, and incredibly flavorful with that ideal sear you control yourself. The quality of the meat truly stands out. The wine selection is equally impressive, with a well-curated list that complements both the steaks and Nobu’s signature dishes. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and energetic, and the service is polished and attentive. A consistently top-tier spot in Chicago for a refined night out.

I’m genuinely disappointed to say this because I truly enjoy the food here — it’s consistently excellent and lives up to the reputation of **Nobu**. However, the service experience does not reflect the same standard of excellence. The staff comes across as unfriendly and unapproachable, and there is a noticeable attitude issue among team members. Most concerning is the manager’s behavior. A manager sets the tone for the entire establishment, and unfortunately, her conduct does not align with the level of professionalism expected at a place like Nobu. She lacks warmth, leadership presence, and customer-focused service — qualities that are essential for someone in that position. It’s disappointing because the restaurant itself is outstanding in terms of food and ambiance. But exceptional cuisine alone is not enough. Leadership and hospitality matter just as much, and currently, the management experience does not meet the high standards that Nobu represents.

Wow! We had a great night! Starting with our server Jen. She was so knowledgeable. I had the Empire martini, my husband had Chi-town cooler. We started with the cucumber salad and spicy tuna crispy rice. Next was the Wagyu tacos and a king crab taco. Then we got the shrimp tempura roll, eggplant miso, rock shrimp tempura, and miso cod. After all that we still found room for dessert. Miso cake with banana gelato and tiramiso with gelato. We ordered a second serving of the Wagyu tacos. For us, we could have done without the eggplant and the rock shrimp. Amazing dinner!!!

Wonderful spot for dinner. Food was great, service was high-class. Loved the fact that we could easily speak and there was no loud noise.

Honestly a very overrated and overhyped brunch buffet. The food was good but not $80 worth good. Cocktail shrimp was large and fresh, and the nigiri sushi was delicious. The service was kind of lacking. Even though it was a buffet, the waiters rarely came around to refill drinks. Unless you’re going to eat plate after plate after plate, I would skip the brunch buffet and opt for a nicer sit down meal from the regular menu.
