However, this is much more upscale and modern vibe with rich dark wood and high ceilings. The food here was fantastic. Their scotch egg using venison was what I expected. Crunchy breading on the outside and the tender meat was not gamey at all, and honestly would not have known it was venison if not mentioned. The soft boiled egg was perfectly prepared and adding course mustard to each bite gave it a nice zing. But their redition of shepards pie using minced lamb and indian-inspired spices was a truly unique experience. Blending indian flavors and a hearty butter mash elevated this pie. A definite must try for blokes that miss traditional UK dishes.

We stumbled on this pub and were delighted, when we stepped, in to see it’s a very tastefully designed British themed pub! At 3pm it was uncrowded and wonderfully quiet. The service and food were first rate and reasonably priced. With bookshelf lined walls and authentic British tableware the atmosphere is lovely.
