My family and I normally loved going to this place. Every time we are on Michigan Ave we stop in. The food is great. Unfortunately this time when we got seated we got seated at a high top in front of the main door. This was a disaster. I don't know how mangemnt even thought it would be a good idea to put tables so close to a door. Because the revolving door always seems to be blocked, everyone uses the normal door. Everytime it opens the 30 degree chicago wind blows right in on 4-6 tables. We had the keep or jackets on the whole time. The food cooled off so fast, it wasn't enjoyable. Then on top of it the door would get stuck open and the manager or hostess would have to go over and shut it. What a mess.

First time here on Sunday night! It was fantastic!! Had a booth under a very cool mosaic and just enjoyed the classic Italian feel of the place.... The beef barley soup was amazing, and the traditional deep dish pepperoni was SO GOOD! I ended up taking most of it back to my hotel room, but will supply me with two Saturday nights of Swengoolie with Labriola's pizza! Arina took excellent care of and couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. Jason stopped by our table and we told him it was our first time, and he asked why? Well, we would eat personal pans at the food court near Daley Plaza, but since it's closed we wanted to visit! Dare I say I'm glad the food court one closed, or we never would have discovered the exceptional Italian restaurant, just off Michigan Ave. too! Thank you everyone for a super meal! It was the best!

We had dinner for 4.
I had spaghetti and meatballs. I figured it would be "safe". It was very average. The meatballs were tender and flavor was ok. The marinara was thick and seemed dehydrated perhaps. It wasn't flavorful. I was surprised that no bread was served considering the owners history (provided on menu) of being a baker. If I'm paying $25 for a bowl of spaghetti at an Italian restaurant, I expect it to be a star. It wasn't. First time ever NOT completing eating my spaghetti. Honestly Olive Garden is better. My wife got an inedible eggplant parm. They left the skin on and it was a gooey overcooked mess. She didn't eat more than 2 bites. One of my sons had steak frites. Ordered medium rare, served medium well. Flavor was good. My other son had shrimp pepe. It was ok, but way over sauced. $200 meal that was very disappointing. Do better is my only advice.

Had an amazing dining experience at Labriola. The food was great, but what really stood out was the service especially from the host, Frank. He went above and beyond, constantly checking on us, keeping our water filled, and making sure everything was perfect.
He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He explained that the lamb was the Easter special and gave great detail about the dishes, including ingredients and potential allergens. I really appreciated that he mentioned the sauce contained nuts, since I’m allergic—super professional and attentive.
Our server was good, but honestly the host made the whole experience unforgettable. You can tell he truly cares about guests and knows what he’s doing. Definitely coming back!

I visited here around 7:18pm on a Wednesday night with my 2 sons to get dinner. This was recommended by a staff member at my hotel for having good pizza. (Note: I am on a mission to find the “best” pizza in Chicago).
The restaurant was busy on arrival but the aroma was very pleasing when I walked in. At the host stand, I was told it would be about a 10 minute wait. We only waited 5 minutes before being seated at a high top closer to the bar.
A person came at 7:26pm to give us waters and the waiter came about a minute later. We ordered at 7:36pm. I ordered us a 12in pepperoni Chicago thin crust pizza and a 12in russo sausage pizza for the 3 of us to share. I wanted to try both the deep dish and the thin crust. I also got us garlic knots as an appetizer. For a beverage, I got the barrel aged manhattan. The waiter stated his name was Ozzie, after we ordered.
My beverage came at 7:39pm and it was delicious. At 7:44pm, a staff member brought over fried mozzarella, which the waiter put in instead of garlic knots. Waiter came over to double check what I ordered and corrected the mistake. The garlic knots came 2 minutes later. The done of the 3 varies with one being cooked perfectly, one being in the middle, and one being a little over cooked. The one I had was delicious, especially paired with the sauce.
The pizza came at 7:55pm and boy was it a lot of pizza! So much so, that we now have lunch for tomorrow, haha. The deep dish was definitely better than the deep dish pizza I had at another local place. I have mixed feelings about the thin crust. The pepperoni was crispy, which was great, and I liked the seasoning; i was not too found of the crust though.
Overall, I’d say it was a positive experience. In the group behind us, there was a birthday and they gave them a dessert with a sparkler candle. It was nice!
