Took my wife out to eat after having watched Phantom of the Opera at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. We were in good spirits and hungry. We landed at Labriola during Happy Hour specials 3-6pm so took advantage of that while also ordering and enjoying the food we had intended on ordering regardless. We grabbed a 12" margharita pizza and a bottle of wine from the happy hour menu plus a goat cheese shareable plus I ordered the tagliatelle Bolagnese while the wife got the chicken parm. Everything was excellent, the staff was super attentive and they heard my wife say it was her birthday. Before I knew it they brought us desert but made it special with a flaming firework on top. I have a long history with Labriola bakery products long before the sale of the bakery and opening of the restaurant Our first experience at the restaurant was excellent and only ensures it wont be our last. We have many shows we will see this year and this may be our go to after each show. I was not aware that Labriola was also behind Stans Donuts which our daughter works at the Schererville location.

Terrible experience and got the stomach flu. Placed a togo order and showed up at the restaurant on-time (as indicated on their website) only to be told that I had to wait another 10-15 mins. So I went to the bar to get a drink while I waited. The bartender refused to make any eye contact and gave us the menu almost 10 minutes after I was seated. This was surreal. I left the bar disappointed and just decided to wait for the pizza. Almost 20 minutes after the pick up time, I got my pizza (basil and burrata with sauage) and it honestly looked gross. The burrata was completely melted like ice cream. I was once again disappointed but since I was home already at that point, my friend and I just decided to eat it which we should not have. We both got sick for days. This place should be shut down.

The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was very nice. It is well located, right off magnificent mile. The chicago style pizza was amazing, filled with tons of cheese and ingredients. Our server told us each pizza can feed 5 to 6 people and he was right! We ordered the arugula salad which was crisp, refreshing and delicious, salad dressing was evenly distributed. The calamari was crunchy on the outside and tender inside. Also very good. Servie was very slow and spotty. I think it was because we wnet during peak holiday season(?). Because we were party of 6 the service at 20% was already included which we noticed ourselves so be careful not to double tip. I went for happy hour too and that was also nice, but the calamari serving during happy hour is half serving as indicated in their menu.

This place always felt "touristy" and maybe wouldn't be a local favorite. But it's surprisingly huge inside, could handle our large group even without a reservation, and the food and service was very nice! The hostess tried to get us one table for 8, but when that was claimed (rightfully) by a party that had reservations, she worked with her managers to quickly get us another option -- one that was much better! We got the whole Goodfellas walk through the entire restaurant back to a small semi-private room. Ended up being a great night!
