I had a very upsetting experience at this Jimmy John’s that needs to be addressed. Upon entering the store, every other employee smiled, greeted, and welcomed me, which I truly appreciated. However, an employee named Kinnen I believe, who has dreadlocks, did not acknowledge me at all.
When he began taking my order, I added extra protein to my sandwich. He immediately started disrespecting my choice, saying that adding it was “diabolical” and “crazy.” This reaction was repeated more than once. As a paying customer, this made me extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed.
I spoke up and told him that as a customer, I do not appreciate commentary or judgment about what I order, as long as I am paying for it. Despite that, the behavior continued and felt like outright bullying.
I have been going to this Jimmy John’s for quite some time, and I have never experienced this level of humiliation or discomfort here before. This interaction with Kinnen alone makes me not want to return or recommend this location to anyone else. Customer service should never include mocking or shaming someone over their food choices.
