We headed over to the self checkout and I noticed an employee, I believe her name was Charlotte, intently watching my mother scan her items. I didn’t want to immediately jump to racial profiling, so I went to the opposite checkout terminal to test it. Sure enough, even though there was another young lady assisting me on that side, charlotte made her way over there too. When asked if something was wrong, she responded “I was just talking to my manager.” But after the convo was over, she still remained on the side I was checking out on. It was the same thing with the manager Denise. She’d come over, watch us, and pretend to go do something else. She even whispered something about how we were checking out to the young lady that was assisting us. I’ve never had a super pleasant experience here, but I’ve never been treated like this. Also, the this Jewel is on the smaller side. How do you have a small selection of products AND have racist employees? Please pick a struggle.
