  Love going to this location with the wife. They always have l good deals, friendly staff and always clean.

  Fortunately I don't shop here often. Stopped by to pick up a few items which went fine. Checking out however, well, that was an experience. Self service 15 items for less lanes. Was told twice that I needed assistance - I didn't. And finally had the system lock up so I had to pay at the counter. Seems like other places have figured out the self checkout process. Might want to do a bit of research and copy what they do. Or perhaps if you are so concerned about theft maybe don't have self checkout at all, hire more workers, and go old school and do it in person. Good news is I won't be back anytime soon. I'd rather pay more than have my time wasted by stupid systems.

  Usually this is a 5 star grocery store but that lady at the Fried chicken area. She is RUTHLESS! Came in tonight to get the $10 bucket of wings. Every single other time for several years, and I mean I’ve picked up these wings up hundreds of times, the bucket is always filled it to the top of the bucket. Today is the first day where she gave me a bucket that was 3/4 full and then said oh that’s just 2.5 pounds. I can’t fill it up to the top for you. Basically goes and trashes the other employees she works with, because they’re not supposed to be filling it up to the top and not being 2.5 lbs exact. Honestly, it’s a few more wings that you end up throwing out. For a long time local, who has shopped here and given this jewel all my money, I might think twice about shopping here again after this. I felt that she was being rude and petty for no reason, and with the price of food being stupid, really, REALLY? Can we do better and fill up the buckets and not look 2.5 lbs. Weighed it on a scale at produce in store and it’s 2.3 lbs if you want to get REAL exact. Thank you Jewel, I might switch to Irving Park store if that’s how you like to make your customers feel.

  For what the neighborhood is, the shoppers are kind of slummy and the employees are worse. Sunday some woman and her son entered with a cart through the self checkout, got stuck in the crowd, and wouldn't turn around and do it right. The four (!) employees there socializing did not take care of the situation but ignored everything and left it to me. She barreled through the bottleneck but when I complained to the employees I was ignored. Store needs better management.
