  Perfect freshly squeezed orange juice. Maybe even better than Whole Foods. Good value too at only $9.99 for 64 oz. In NYC I pay $18.50 for 64 oz of freshly squeezed OJ at Whole Foods and there is no decent alternative in the city believe it or not. *SMH* If I lived in Chicago I'd be ordering 3 big bottles of OJ from Jewel-Osco every week.

  I had an extremely disappointing experience ordering a cake for a 60-person birthday party. Two weeks before the party, I called this Jewel and was told they only needed 24-hour notice before pickup (Friday). To be safe, I called on Tuesday — three days in advance — because I’ve had issues with other Jewel bakeries before. On Tuesday, I was told the cake would need to be made Thursday because they don’t have a decorator on Fridays. So had I actually ordered it 24 hours in advance like I was told, it wouldn’t have been possible to decorate it. Not reassuring. Then on Thursday — the day before the party — the decorator called to say they didn’t have the yellow cake flavor I ordered. The only alternatives were chocolate, red velvet, or marble. The birthday boy doesn’t like chocolate — which is exactly why I ordered ahead of time in the first place. When I said I needed a moment to think (and potentially find another bakery that could make a full sheet cake in less than 24 hours), she replied, “Okay, but I need to know before noon because I’m leaving.” This is a 60-person party. This isn’t a situation where I can grab a random cake from the case. Had they told me on Tuesday they couldn’t fulfill the order, I would have made other arrangements. But taking the order and then calling the day before to say it’s not possible is incredibly unprofessional and disorganized. If you’re ordering for a large event, beware. It’s simply not worth the stress this caused.

  This really goes for all Jewel-Osco locations. You've got customers spending HUNDREDS of dollars on groceries and you expect them to bag their groceries. Now there's lines forming because your customers are getting flustered worrying about packing their groceries properly. It's a joke.

  I dislike having to give this location a bad rating because the in-store shopping experience is good but the pick-up is sooo bad. Consistently they make subs without asking or notifying you and you end up with $30-$50 of product you didn’t order and do not want. Very frustrating because it’s a waste of food.

  Was here night before the big storm. Very busy. Got 2 meats from "buy one get one free" but had the wrong signs and they weren't on sale. Manager did the right thing! Let me get the meats at sale price, then took the wrong signage down. This is how businesses should be run. I will continue to shop here. The pub inside is great too! Bartender very friendly.
