My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine’s day and while we were so excited to try this restaurant out for the first time, we are sad to say it was one of the worst service experiences we have ever experienced. Our server was completely confused with what was available on the menu and many of the items on the menu were not available, even though we reserved a 5 course dinner and wine pairing (we never received wine). We aren’t even sure if we received the right amount of food given the chaos. While the food we did received was delicious, this was overshadowed by the confused server fielding upset customers, which we couldn’t help but to overhear, given the close proximity to everyone. To be honest, my boyfriend and I were a bit anxious the whole dinner and it was hard to converse given the commentary from guests all around us. Both tables next to us warned us it would take hours to get our food and the were unfortunately correct. We had high hopes for the dinner but sadly they weren’t met. I’m sure something beyond control was at play because it was a really confusing experience. Again, food was good but sadly I do not beieve the ~$180ish paid was worth it because of the service and experience. We ended up walking to jewel osco after for a bottle of prosecco and snacks…

I visited this restaurant yesterday and wanted to share my honest experience.
The food was okay for the price we paid — not exceptional, but decent enough in terms of taste and portion size. However, the service was pretty disappointing. We had to wait almost 2 hours to receive our main course, which really affected the overall experience. There wasn’t much communication from the staff about the delay either.
I hope they can improve their service and reduce waiting times, because with better management, the place has potential to offer a much better dining experience.

It’s unfortunate how truly horrible the service and timing were, especially because the food was amazing.
We dined on Valentine’s Day, and what should have been a special date night ended up feeling chaotic and frustrating, to put it nicely. We waited over two hours, watched multiple tables walk out, which I’ve never seen before let alone four times, and eventually received all five courses all paced incorrectly, after over TWO AND A HALF HOURS. There was little communication about delays, and the pacing felt completely out of control. We also let them know we were waiting and what was happening, which clearly didn’t help.
We had also ordered wine pairings, which never properly happened because all the confusion and food arriving at incorrect times. That completely defeated the purpose of the pairing experience.
To make matters worse, we were handed dessert “to go,” because of how long it has been and it contained mango, despite the fact that I had informed the staff I’m allergic to mango.
To add to the disappointment, we were charged full price with no acknowledgment, adjustment, or comp for the extreme delays and poor timing.
The food is great, but they seriously need to get it together because it didn’t save the bad experience. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

5pm reservation and I am not exaggerating when I say we did not get our APPETIZERS until after 6pm, even after multiple reminders. We ordered their preset tasting menu and had to remind them to bring out the soup (course 2) after those apps. We asked for the wine pairing which simply never came, even after prompting and being told they would check with the kitchen. Entree was a reasonably quick follow by comparison (~10 minutes). They pushed us to take dessert to go so they could free up the table (it had been nearly 2.5 hours at this point) AND THEN TOOK 15 MORE MINUTES TO BRING THE CHECK. No discounts or comped items were provided. In disgust I tipped our server with a 20 just so he can keep a roof over his head (many things must have gone wrong in back of house, it is not squarely on him).
Keep in mind this is a $200 meal at a Michelin-recognized restaurant. We saw 4 separate parties walk out after experiencing essentially nonexistent service, and frankly, I feel foolish for not joining them.
Tragically, but unfair not to mention, the food itself was truly delicious. For the 3-5 minutes I was eating each course (once it eventually came out) all frustration went out the window. However, it simply was not enough. No brief moments of deliciousness can make up for the insane wait times, and overall it was a bad first experience at this restaurant. It will be difficult to ever consider returning. After this one meal dominated nearly 3 hours of our night, I don't know how I could possibly find the time.
Quite a shame. Herb, whatever is going on with your back of house, I am not exaggerating when I say, it is going to cost you your restaurant. I am flabbergasted at how you can do SO WELL at the hard part of fine dining and so atrociously at basic logistics and table management.
This will be a Valentine's day to remember for all the wrong reasons. My wife and I decided that we will be ordering a heart-shaped pizza and watching movies on the couch, at home, for every remaining Valentine's day we are blessed enough to share in our future. Thanks, I suppose, for a new tradition.

I hate to have to leave such a poor review...but don't waste your time, this place is poorly managed and under staffed. We waited over 30 minutes for a drink order, 50+ minutes for our food order to be taken and after about 70 minutes without having had a bite to eat, we decided to pay for our wine and go. During the reservation process, we selected a vegetarian 5 course meal, but at the restaurant we were presented with meat options which was confusing. Never got to taste the food so I cannot comment on quality. I felt bad for our server, he tried his best, but with over 20 tables to manage alone, he was set up to fail. It was a very disappointing experience.
