On the other hand, it's currently two PM on a Tuesday in the busiest part of Chicago, and I'm currently sitting in this location waiting for my drink that I have already ordered and paid for, and there are no employees here. Sorry, I'm exaggerating. There is exactly one employee for the whole store and he was in the bathroom when I came in. How do I know this? Because after 5 minutes of waiting with 8 other bewildered customers in an apparently abandoned store, I walked into the back to make sure that there was no one injured back there and unable to answer our calls. This isn't the employee's fault. He was very nice, and sadly, probably completely humiliated for doing only that which must be done by all humans: using the bathroom. I don't expect Dunkin to read this, and I should not have to write it but I will anyway: If you can only open with one employee, you can't open. Simple as that. Not because people need to use the bathroom - which they do, and that's a good enough reason on its own - but because that single employee could have been hurt as I'd feared. You need at least two in a store to open. It's better for your customers and safer for your employees.
