We decided to go to Hamilton Walker’s on New Year’s Eve, and had reservations for 9pm. We arrived much went earlier, but they were still able to seat us sooner. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. To start with, the salad was good, but very average. For the entree, the steaks were delicious. It was a solid 9 out of 10, very tender, and fell apart with no knife. For the sides, we had macaroni and cream corn. The macaroni was good, but the cream corn was not quite what we expected and could’ve been better. We decided to stay for desert, and our server Dani helped us pick the baked s’mores pie. It was great! I highly recommend coming to this restaurant. Dani did a great job for us. Thank you!

Allow me to regale you with the tale of my dining experience at Hamilton Walker's tonight. We were a party of two looking for an intimate upscale dining experience here in Champaign. I called earlier today and made a reservation for a late afternoon dinner. My dinner guest arrived early and the staff usher her into a private dining 4 top room for the most cozy and intimate of dining. The ambiance upon my walking in was an upscale speak easy meets sports bar. The place just oozed masculinity and class. The entire front of the house staff dressed in black and white, The music playing overhead was some great Jazz, the bar just gleamed. Our server Kara lead us on our culinary tour of pleasures with style and aplomb. Which began with cocktails. I ordered an Old Fashioned and called out Blanton's as my prefered bourbon for a celebratory dinner such as this. Oh my did the barkeep step up to the plate. What was presented to me was the "promised land" of cocktails so skillfully crafted with the finest of ingredients shaken and poured by wordly-wise hands. I do not know the bar-keeps name otherwise I would certainly call them out in this review. I ordered the Beef Fillet Trio, a menage a trois of beef medallions encrusted with three different flavor profiles, a side of asparagus and a beautiful glass of Cabernet recommended by Kara. Sexy, indulgent, yet reserved all three medallions cooked to a perfect mid rare. My lady friend ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon with wilted spinach ordered at 145 degrees of doneness her's came out a bit past that but none the less was quite tasty and wonderfully presented all the same. Kara's service was timely without hovering, she was well spoken with a vast fund of knowledge of their food and beverage program offerings. The ambiance was spot on in a word our whole experience was RESPLENDENT from beginning to end. We left after settling the bill both happy and satisfied. Several hours later I got a call from Cara the manager at Hamilton Walker's she had my phone number from my reservation. I had inadvertently left my wallet upon the table and hadn't noticed it was missing. I made a quick dash back to the restaurant to reacquire my wallet which Cara had discreetly secured and returned to me. To all the staff at Hamilton Walker's both front and back of the house. THANK YOU for a glorious dining experience. You all made a GREAT night even better by delivering on the customer promise. I hope all that future and past customers who read this review translate the genuine joy, sincere satisfaction, and reward feel in writing this review. Keep doing the "voodoo that you do" and I'll be back with bells on!
