- KKKenNov 13, 20251.0Never thought I would have to write a bad review for a Portillos but here it is. I have been to several locations and always have a good experience from service to food consistency to clean restaurants. Today was a bit different as it started when I entered the restaurant I went to use the restroom first where I found a Portillos employee in the bathroom leaning on the counter talking on the phone which I believe was plugged into the wall and this person was blocking the hand dryer. Not the end of the world but not a good look. Second I went to the counter to order vs using the kiosk as I was paying with cash as well as it was pretty slow inside and wide ooen at kiosks and the counter. The girl taking my order hardly made any eye contact as she fumbled with a printer and had to ask for my perks number twice and then before I ordered said "will that be all?" I told her I wanted to place and order so she asked what she could get for me so I thought that would be the end of the weirdness and I got my cup and receipt for my order and went to get my drink and some napkins and ketchup. I waited and waited and I saw several people order food and get their food and the order numbers just kept getting higher and higher. At this point it was about 20 minutes and I was out of time to eat and had to leave so I got a refund. I asked for the manager for the refund and explained what happened and she was polite and returned my money and said she would follow up on what happened to my order. I don't see the point telling me that as I was unable to eat and did me no good but whatever. She asked if I wanted them to make it quickly which I replied no because I was out of time and had to get back on the road. Hopefully this was just a one time thing but I doubt I'd stop there again.

When given the food thrown door on the counter and not even a smile or thank you like before. Tables are dirty and not cleaned, had to clean our table. Yes all the tables were dirty.
