I chose to dine here because of the popular reviews and hype. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
I ordered a special pizza with chicken, but after a 45-minute wait, I was served a pepperoni pizza instead. The wait time was excessive, and receiving the wrong order added to the frustration.
Additionally, the Alfredo pasta was very dry and lacked sauce. When I asked the server for extra Alfredo sauce, there was no response or follow-up.
Overall, the service was inattentive, and the food quality did not justify the long wait or the restaurant’s reputation. As a first-time customer, this experience was disappointing.

This was my first visit to Giordano’s, and I decided to try it because of the hype. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations.
I ordered a special pizza with chicken, but after waiting 1 hour , I was served a pepperoni pizza instead. The long wait combined with the incorrect order was disappointing.
I also ordered Alfredo pasta, which was very dry and lacked sauce. When I politely asked the server for additional Alfredo sauce, my request was not acknowledged or addressed.
Overall, the service was poor and the food quality did not match the reputation of the restaurant. I was hoping for a better first experience, but unfortunately, it fell short.

My experience at Giordano’s in Des Moines, Iowa, was disappointing due to the behavior of the hostess responsible for seating guests. We are tourists. We visited the restaurant between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., at a time when the restaurant was mostly empty. Upon entering, we were not greeted at all, and without being asked or given any choice, we were taken directly to the last table next to the restroom. What made the situation uncomfortable was noticing that as other guests arrived, they were warmly greeted, asked where they would like to sit, and assigned to the best tables in the restaurant. The difference in treatment felt discriminatory. The only positive exception during our visit was our server, who was very kind, attentive, and professional throughout the entire meal. Unfortunately, the initial treatment overshadowed the overall experience.

This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately I had a bad experience with the host service at the entrance. The young woman did not introduce herself or ask a simple question like “booth or table.” Instead, she looked at us, assumed we didn’t speak English, and just said “three?” with a very poor attitude.
She then took us to the last table next to the bathroom, even though the restaurant was almost empty at the time. The interaction felt uncomfortable and honestly came across as discriminatory.
The food itself was fine. However, the only truly positive part of the experience was the service from our waitress. I regret not asking for her name, but she was extremely kind, attentive, and professional. She deserves recognition and honestly some kind of raise for her excellent service.
We visited between 5:30 and 6:30 PM. Thank you to our waitress for being so welcoming, and it’s very disappointing that the first impression at the entrance was so unpleasant.
Our server was very inattentive and rude, which made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. What made it even more uncomfortable was waiting an hour for a 6 inch pizza. I’m now seeing online that it’s standard for it to take 45 minutes. This was not told to us, not indicated on the menu. When we had been waiting a half hour in a mostly empty dining room, and my food had already come/I was done eating, we were eventually able to flag our server down when she wasn’t in the back. We asked about my partner’s pizza. She told us it only takes twenty minutes. It came another 30 minutes after that. While it wasn’t bad pizza, certainly not worth the experience. If I wanted to wait for such a long time for mediocre food with someone being rude about it, I’d go to my family Christmas. At least it would be cheaper.
