Im not sure what has changed, ownership apparently. I can’t give the food a rating because both times I’ve been in the last month I’ve waited so long that I finally had to leave. First time only one other person was in line, it was also 1:45pm, after the lunch rush. Second time, nobody. I understand getting online orders done but after 20 min in person customer should get a sandwich. I would have waited longer if the employee would have at least acknowledged I was in the store.
Too bad. Other options are available now.

Horrible store and manager. I waited an hour and a half for my order. 1 girl working and she was awesome for it being so busy and she was cool and calm throughout the line of customers. People asked her why was she working by herself through noon hour, she said something about the manager leaving. The manager should of called back up to take managers place. I felt so sorry for the girl working by herself.

Horrible! Some Indian kid has been working there lately and food/service has really went down. You have to remind him to change his gloves after handling money, he never has the food covered and the food prep area that's viewable is disgusting. Won't be back!!! I don't want to be in the hospital from eating there.

I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received at this location recently. I placed an online order scheduled for pickup at 12:05 PM. I arrived at the store at 12:00 PM to find that my orders had not been started. Despite it being the lunch rush on a Saturday, there was only one employee working. While I understand the store was busy, the employee appeared to be untrained and worked at an incredibly slow pace.
I waited behind only two other customers, yet it took 45 minutes to reach the front of the line. It then took another 5 minutes for the employee to locate my digital order and 15 minutes to prepare two footlong subs. In total, I was in the store for over an hour. Including the time from when the orders were placed, my three young children and I waited over 70 minutes (90 from time of order).
To make matters worse, the order instructions were not followed, and both subs were prepared incorrectly. Due to the excessive wait, I eventually had to ask the employee to simply wrap them as they were so we could leave. I also observed nearly a dozen other frustrated customers leave the store without being served during this time.

I’ve been a loyal customer of the Polk City Subway for over 12 years and used to stop in about once a week. Unfortunately, since the recent ownership change, the quality and overall experience have declined significantly.
This location used to have wonderful local employees who knew their customers and consistently made great sandwiches. Many of those familiar faces are gone now, which is disappointing in a small community where people really valued them.
The sandwiches themselves have also become very inconsistent. The way they’re assembled often seems off, with odd ratios of toppings and condiments. My most recent visit was especially disappointing, the bread on my sub wasn’t fully baked, so the sandwich fell apart and I ended up having to eat just the toppings.
Polk City has supported this location for many years, and many of us have been long-time regular customers. Right now the quality and experience are not matching what people here have come to expect, and unfortunately it’s the kind of thing that will cause loyal customers to stop coming if it doesn’t improve.
I hope the new owners take this feedback seriously and work toward bringing the quality and consistency back to what made this location such a great stop for the community.
