Bryn was a fantastic server! He was attentive and made great conversation. Crab Rangoon dip was great as was the dumpster fire and kabobs. Food was delivered quickly as well. Then whole team was helping each other the entire time we were there.

Many items we tried to order were out, even at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Our waitress informed us they ran out of many items Friday night. What we ordered was good and our waitress, Olivia, was good. The chef came out and reprimanded her in front of us, which wasn’t cool. Felt bad for her. Not sure we will be back.

We decided to give City Walk another chance after our last visit. We went out for the Valentine’s Day 6-course prix fixe dinner. We paid $80 in advance to reserve our 8 PM seating and when we arrived we were seated about five minutes later.
The night did not start out the best, unfortunately, our drinks didn’t arrive until the second course, about 30 minutes after we were seated. During dinner, staff had already begun cleaning nearby tables, removing flower centerpieces, and sweeping around us, which made the dinner feel rushed and not very romantic. There was a point where our server skipped one of the courses and we had to remind them we still had another course to go.
There were a few highlights. The kabob appetizer and the Moroccan soup were excellent, and the main meat course and pasta were the best parts of the night; we honestly wished we could have ordered full portions of just those dishes. However, most of the other items fell short. The oysters arrived frozen, so I switched to the kabob, which they were apologetic and was a quick turnaround. The bisque was salty, like to the extreme and almost inedible (which was an issue last time too with the soup), and the caprese salad with berry compote didn’t work for us because of all the seeds in the sauce. Dessert was just okay. Drinks also took about 20 minutes each to arrive throughout the evening.
Our waiter was attentive and professional, and many of the issues seemed outside of their control. However, the overall food quality, pacing, and service experience needs improvement. It gave a sour taste in the mouth afterwards knowing we paid $250+ for a mediocre meal on Valentine’s Day.

We were driving through town and needed to eat a late lunch and picked a place that was right off the interstate and had good reviews. We found a parking space close by and were able to sit down right away. We asked the server what they were known for and what was good on the menu and she really couldn't give us any direction, which I thought was odd. After a bit of prompting she eventually she did tell us what most people order and like. When the brussel sprouts came I was so hungry and started eating I forgot to take a picture. They were absolutely delicious! The rice bowl we got was also amazing and full of flavor. If I was rating it just on the food alone I would have given it a five. But there are definite things that need to be improved. I don't know if they were in the middle of decorating for Valentine's Day (It was a Friday and the 13th so that should have been done already) but it was a bit of a mess. Maybe they were preparing for a big event the next day? Also, I know it's winter in Iowa but the windows were absolutely filthy and there was plenty that needed to be taken care of outside. There was a fallen metal piece from the railing and all the pots still had dead plants inside them. It's been beautiful in Iowa the last 2 weeks so this definitely could have been taken care of. Optically it just looks bad. The menu was also dirty, which was one of my first impressions. There really wasn't anything on the table except for one me for a little candle. Again, maybe they were adding more for the evening. I would recommend going there for the location and the food. I would go again.

We came to Citywalk after a recommendation from our Airbnb host. They certainly didn't disappoint. Evan was able to get us in on a busy concert night without a reservation. Enjoyed a quick meal that didnt disappoint. Evan was a great server and his recommendation of the seafood chowder was on point. The smoked old fashioned was top notch and a pour of Stagg after didn't hurt. We will be back next time we're in Cedar Rapids.
