After getting back from spending a couple weeks in the Mediterranean,I was REALLY excited to hear there was a Mediterranean restaurant in the QC. But, it was very disappointing. The hummus was very cold, and the one thing that I felt was missing, across the board, was that amazing olive oil flavor in all the dishes. The hummus was flat, and tasted like they blended it with water, not a high quality olive oil. Why the nasty cheesy cracker flaky twists with the hummus? Hummus is for dipping. You can't dip the nasty flaky cheesy twist, and if you try to spread the ice cold block of tasteless hummus on the cheese things, they immediately disintegrated. What's wrong with a nice quality pita? I've had DELICIOUS hummus in Turkey and great hummus in Egypt. But I've never had hummus like this that tasted SO bland; no olive oil and no garlic magic happening here. The crab ceviche was good, but AGAIN with the weird phyllo dough that just doesn't work. The Moroccan flatbread pizza thing was ok. I love Moroccan food. I've spent a week in Marrakech, sampling all the different tagines. I love tagines! But this one was just ok. There were only 3 tables of people in the restaurant, and it's kinda obvious why. I REALLY wanted to like it, but I'm afraid it was just ok. It was quiet, and then somebody turned up the Christmas station really loud. You couldn't even have a nice conversation. It's weird to be trying to go for high end ambience, but then have a TV on the wall. When I was visiting, Santa Clause with Tim Allen was playing. And the lighting was so dim, I felt like I needed my flashlight on my phone. If you're high end, maybe don't do the TV. If you're trying for the fancy "sparkling or still" water crowd, maybe try figuring out how to be that. Right now, it just seems like they're having an identity crisis.

We’ve been looking for a good Mediterranean restaurant in the quad cities for years. We found it here! Great food with a wide selection of Mediterranean and Latin dishes (what a combo!) my wife had a shrimp and lobster étouffe and I had a lamb kabob. Both were done to perfection! My kabob was juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned unlike many kabobs I’ve had over the years that were tough and dried out. Best I’ve ever had, really. Our server recommended a Cabernet that was perfectly paired to the meal. We went there for lunch and are looking forward to returning for dinner sometime soon.

The osso bucco was absolutely fantastic, rich, tender, and full of flavor. Our server was alright and kept things moving, and the chef even sent out a complimentary falafel, which was a really nice surprise. I left feeling genuinely happy and satisfied. I’ll definitely be back!
