Anthony did a fabulous job. We had the omakase dinner with wine pairings. Highly recommend for a splurge dinner!

Ashley sold me on the Waygu & wine special and it was amazing! She walked me through it and was a delightful part of my day!

My husband and I had reservations this evening and specifically requested to be seated outside. Unfortunately, what should have been a relaxing dinner turned into a pretty baffling and appalling experience. Shortly after we were seated, a large family settled in by the edge of the pool—and their three children were running around completely naked. I'm sure Morimoto has a dress code as well. Not only were they sprinting through the restaurant, but they were also splashing water onto nearby tables (including ours), yelling, whining, and generally turning the space into chaos. Meanwhile, the father casually sat out at the pool’s edge with a beer, having his dinner served pool side. The father left his plate and chopsticks on the floor. About 15 minutes later, one of the kids picked up the exact plate the father left and threw it onto the ground, drawing attention from the entire restaurant and completely disrupting everyone’s evening. The parents, unsurprisingly, seemed entirely unbothered. What’s worse is that management didn’t step in at any point while this was happening. The situation was only addressed after the family had already paid and left. To top it off, we watched the father walk off with a restaurant glass in hand, again with no intervention. It was clear we weren’t the only ones uncomfortable—many diners around us were visibly disturbed. It’s a shame, because the food was excellent, the service itself was great, and the setting in Maui is beautiful. But the complete lack of management response to such an absurd situation really put a damper on the entire experience. I just wish the management team had taken this seriously in the moment instead of pretending it wasn’t happening. I find this experience to be extremely disappointing. We walked out of the restaurant feeling uneasy and frustrated.

We were staying at Andaz in Wilea and Morimoto was in the resort. First, we called the front desk to ask if we could get reservations. We were informed that we had to call the restaurant directly. After connecting with the restaurant, we were told “we are not taking reservations at the moment, ONLY walk ins” When we arrived at the restaurant, we were coldly turned away, reason being “we no longer accept walk ins”. I’m sure the food would’ve been delicious but the service and communication were horrible.

This is for the foodies :) Our dinner was absolutely delightful! We shared a handful of dishes : The Cod - delicate, sweet, cooked to perfection Chef’s sashimi platter - absolutely gorgeous ( oh gosh! The scallops, otoro, and the salmon - divine! ) Hāmākua mushrooms - hella good Blistered shishito peppers - of course! Wagyu Filet - Rare - Chefs kiss Ishi yaki buri bop - yummmyy!! Mussels on special - so good! Rock n Spicy tuna - that’s literally a 2 in 1 deal & #sakeflights & forced ourselves to get dessert for the hell of it! The desserts are perfect - not too sweet, but just right! The sunset / ocean / luau view was gorgeous. You do have to walk down “a handful of stairs” - but it’s worth it!
