Our premium sushi restaurant in Wailea, Maui promises a refined yet relaxed dining experience where authentic Japanese cuisine meets the breathtaking beauty of Hawaii. Led by master chef Kiyokuni "Kiyo" Ikeda, we welcome you with the warmth of Hawaiian hospitality and the precision of Japanese cuisine.
High prices doesn’t mean high quality. I’m severely disappointed and would recommend you go anywhere else.
We ordered the Mystery Box. Which is one of their most expensive choices. An assortment of “fresh fish”.
We watched them. And here’s the truth. They don’t cut the fish. They pull a cold plate of pre cut fish out of a fridge. Like their pulling out salami cold cuts. They do NOT cut it off the fish block. Who knows when it was cut and put in there.
The helper chef even smelled a piece of snow crab from that plate right in front of us. He went and asked the “chef” about it. And they still served it to us.
ANY self respecting sushi chef would NEVER do this. This is the type of thing they do at Genki Sushi in a conveyor belt of sushi atmosphere.
If you’re looking for mid range sushi and mediocre service, at $250 and up prices. This might be the place for you.
If you’re looking for better quality, go to Oao sushi down the road. They have Chefs that care about their product.

This is what the Nobu up the street should’ve been like. Yes it’s expensive but it’s a high end sushi place in the four seasons, that’s a given.
You go here because you want something fresh and incredible on your palate. This will satisfy that! Wish I could’ve stayed for dessert but didn’t have the time. Every roll or nigiri was out of this world.
The attention to detail in everything from the palate cleanser, to the food, to the soy sauce was incredible and noted. I will be back!
