Had a fantastic GNO (Girls Night Out) with Sarah (our server who honestly felt more like our fourth) entertaining us. She went above and beyond in accommodating requests (who knew they could concoct a virgin smoked pig cocktail!?) and all the dishes we ordered were delish. Bonus points for scoring a private space in IYKYK. We could laugh and gabble with out fear of disrupting other diners.
The service was extremely friendly and fairly quick but for the price the food was I expected way more. We got the ribs and the ribeye and the steak came cut up which I've never seen. The ribs had a great glaze on them but again for the price the food was not worth it.
The Surfing Pig Hawaii is the elevated "big sister" to the famous Kono’s Northshore, and it brings that same slow-roasted excellence to Kaimukī with a sophisticated, urban-surf vibe. If your home cooking felt inadequate after the last few spots, this place might just be the final blow—the portions are massive, the flavors are bold, and the execution is top-tier.
The Tsunami Burger is a structural marvel, legit around 8 inches when fully stacked. It’s not just about the size, though; the bacon-infused beef patty is incredibly juicy and flavorful, making it a "must-try" for any burger enthusiast.
For bacon lovers, the Millionaire Bacon is a total game-changer.
* It features thick-cut applewood smoked bacon.
* Glazed with brown sugar, cracked black pepper, and a hint of truffle oil.
* Finished with shaved parmesan and chicharron for an extra layer of crunch.
The French Dip is another heavyweight on the menu that doesn't mess around.
* It utilizes thinly shaved prime rib layered on a toasted baguette.
* Served with a rich au jus that diners describe as incredibly savory.
* Complemented by a flavorful herb aioli that cuts through the richness of the meat.
The atmosphere is vibrant and hip, featuring a modern surf-themed interior and even a hidden speakeasy called "IYKYK" for those looking for a craft cocktail adventure after dinner.
Pro-tip: Buy a pay it forward meal and add it to your tab so those less fortunate in the area can get a meal. Also, parking can be found in the nearby paid lot or along Waialae Avenue if you're lucky!

Absolutely incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with the thick-cut bacon appetizer—yum is an understatement. Every main dish was a hit: the ribs were tender and flavorful, the pork loin was perfectly cooked, and the pasta was so delicious we were scraping plates. Dessert somehow topped it all—the bread pudding and cheesecake were hands-down the best we’ve had.
But the best part of the entire experience was our waitress, Sarah. Truly the best server any of us have ever had and we all agreed this was our best restaurant experience EVER!! She gave thoughtful recommendations, genuinely talked with us, and when we asked if she had a minute, she even sat down and joined our conversation. She was real, kind, honest, and made us feel completely at home.
We enjoyed every single moment and will absolutely be back—especially hoping to be lucky enough to have Sarah again.
The food is good, but the portions leave something to be desired. For 20-30 dollars I would hope to be fully fed. Not to mention adding any protein costs almost 10 dollars. The inside decor is fine, but the place is freezing. Service is great, nothing was our servers fault. Honestly if you are gonna go, just get the truffle fries and sit at the bar during happy hour. Nothing else is really worth the cost.
