- BMBen McCormick5 days ago1.0This is as much a condemnation of society as it is a condemnation of this Safeway, but my experience at the Kapahulu Safeway was 1-Star. I needed toothpaste. To my consternation it was locked behind a plexiglass barrier. I pressed the button and waited a few minutes for a person to unlock the case and ask me which one? Well sir, I normally like to look at the tubes, but under all this pressure “Crest Radiant Mint” should do. I expected the toothpaste to be handled to me, but in this zero trust society, the saga did not end there. The offending item, could not be simply handed to me, it needed to be taken up to a register to bypass my thieving hands. As I got to the register, my toothpaste was not at my selected register. The kind cashier retrieved my highly valuable item at another cash register and I paid for it. The tube was not worth the squeeze. It should not be this hard to buy toothpaste. This is my Safeway. I am a Safeway guy, but this situation is untenable. Safeway Management, please free the toothpaste from the ridiculous cages you have installed. Aisle 8 deserves better.

The stall that opened, the driver was in the Verizon store. The girl that bought it my order was the only good thing about this service they offer.i called the store to complain waiting for 24 mins for someone to answer. The person that answered was unprofessional. I asked 5 times if she was a manager and she wouldn't confirm if she was. I told her why I was calling and apparently she said the management is aware that people park in these stalls and go shopping to other stores. Why have this service if Safeway doesn't care if these stalls are utilize for the reason and purpose they were designed for? Poor management staff!!!

This location has a deli, sushi, bakery, butcher, produce, customer service, etc. Many restaurants surround this grocery store (see a map App) and is across the street from Leonard's. Has a DMV kiosk, key cutting kiosk, flowers, cards & balloons but the USPS kiosk is permanently closed. Believe you will find what you're looking for here in this neighborhood . . .
