This is my usual grocery store. I come here because it makes it convenient to find everything I need, and is well lit and fairly clean. I have had some not great customer service experiences before, but small things easy to brush off. I have noticed several time food that has gone moldy and pointed clerks to it. But since my car has broken down, I have gotten grocery delivery, which the store shoppers have given me poor produce, either half rotten or completely unripe, or have given me the wrong product when I know they have the correct one in stock. I’m pregnant and upset I have to throw away half my produce or cant have my correct cereal. Can’t wait to drive myself to a different grocery store.

It had the specialty items Iwas looking for. There were a lot of items locked up. Such as hygiene and cleaning products. But it was well organized and clean.

I was rudely told to leave the store by security stating that I had been trespassed previously which is untrue and the guard tried to argue with me about it and wouldnt show me the previous tresspass paperwork to prove that I had been and instead had called hpd. Overall highly unprofessional and rude

Customer service is lost here. All I was trying to find was breakfast sausage, but not frozen. The woman at self checkout decided to tell me she has no idea what breakfast sausage is, looked at me, then said “in Hawaii we eat Portuguese sausage and spam”. I told her and in Hawaii, you also eat breakfast sausage. She had attitude right from the start, then got angry because I tried saying that I’ve bought it at this Safeway for years, they have a whole selection and it’s with the bacon. She begrudgingly got a manager who knew exactly what breakfast sausage is and walked me right to it (they’d moved its location from when I’d last bought it). I tried to be nice and after picking out a couple packs, and going to check out, I showed the First Lady and said this is breakfast sausage. Not because you eat it either breakfast, because yes, you can eat Portuguese sausage for breakfast too, but that the actual label even says “breakfast sausage”. (I was asking for it by its literal name). At this point, she decided to unleash whatever has been eating her soul because she proceeded to raise her voice at me, now several check stands away. Safeway is the most expensive place to buy groceries in Hawaii. The only thing they could have going for them that makes the extra cost worth it would be showing a bit of customer service. So without that? Not worth my time or dollars. I’ll shop elsewhere from now on.
