Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Always a brilliant service. I go to greggs regular as I work in the area, so some of the staff know me. Any who today 27/03/26 at about 11:10am I went in, there was a guy and a tall lass on the tills. As soon as the lass saw me she gave me a funny look like as if she knows me and have we fallen out. I dont know her so unsure why she gives me funny looks but then serve other people and have a laugh with them while getting their items, this isn't the first time as there has been a couple of times shes done it aswell. She didnt have a name badge on so I couldnt get her name. They guy whe served me has brilliant customer service skills. When my ham and cheese sandwich was finished in the baker the lass took it out while the guy was in the back doing something and instead of her taking it out and giving me my food she took it out and left it on the side whilst she served 2 other customers and then went to get the guy. I get along with the staff that know me like mark the manager so I dont want to be that awkward customer if I say something to him and feel uncomfortable when I go and get my food. Please sort your staff members attitude out towards all customers.

Having always had good experience with Greggs cafés in the past, we used this for a sit-down during a walk around the City walls (close by). It didn't disappoint. There was a perfectly adequate choice of food, all very attractively displayed, fresh and tasty. Although we visited on Christmas Eve, there was seating available. This café is also very conveniently located in a retail park, sharing with a huge Morrison's supermarket.
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
