We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.
Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours.
Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats.
Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?

I have a voucher for a free hot drink every month at Greggs as a reward from confused.com. I asked the girl there what hot drinks I could have and she rudely pointed to the menu board above her. I showed her my QR voucher code on my phone and she swiped it and I ordered a large coffee. I was about to take it when she was muttering something which I couldn't understand and pointed at the contactless module thing which had £3.75 on it. I had to ask her 4 times what she was saying as I couldn't understand her. I think she was trying to say that I had to pay £3.75 as I had a large coffee with chocolate bits I couldn't use my voucher. I explained I didn't even want a coffee and only ordered it because it was free with my voucher. She aggressively said well what am I supposed to do this and tried to bully me into paying for it. I explained that initially when she beeped my voucher she should have let me know that the coffee I was ordering was not going to be paid by my voucher. She carried on mumbling and protesting again demanding me to pay so I just walked out without my drink. I am getting on a bit and have never been to Greggs before and never bought a coffee in a coffee shop and I found this girl to be very abrupt, rude and unhelpful.

First time ever on Greggs the Indian guy with the bandage on his head and a big beard refused to give me a croissant which I want it with the coffee. Clearly he was just not bothered and make an excuse they are not good cooked but still keep them on the display for everyone. Very unprofessional and bad Indian customer service first time at Greggs otherwise I’m eating from Greggs 15 years.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
