One the most disappointing experiences I’ve had at a Wagamamas. My wife and I came here for a lunch date and were welcomed well , taken to our table - we were shown the new menu which went live that day and was highly recommended it. We ordered 2 sides and 2 mains - I ordered the new duck curry dish that was recommended. All the dishes came around the same time except mine - mine took ages to come (yes I know it’s duck and their dishes come at different times but this was taking the mick) it came when we had both finished the sides and my wife was literally 2 bites away from finishing her main she stopped eating so to wait then was left just watching me whilst I ate this dreadful curry. The duck was WAY over done to the point it tasted powdery , it was bland with loads of fat on it also. The curry sauce was just as bland (not rich at ALL as described) it didn’t taste any special or different from a bog standard curry you can get in any restaurant or pub. It came with a side salad of “pickled” kale and red cabbage - well it was dry and tasted of nothing and there was shaven coconut on it which added nothing and was pointless being on top. The waiter came over after I had a few bites and asked how it was and wanted to know what we thought of the new menu which I fedback I wasn’t a fan of and that it just felt bland and about the duck being powdery - the waiter then said and I quote “ok I’ll pass that on” - he didn’t even offer to swap the dish or compensate it then walked off. We ended up just paying and leaving. Honestly sad at this visit and wished for something more.

Walked into Wagamama Crawley hoping to get my mind blown, but honestly, it just gave a polite little golf clap. The service and atmosphere were lovely the team here is super welcoming and keeps things moving. But let's talk about the food. We went for the firecracker prawns and the chicken ramen. While nothing was outright bad (it definitely didn't suck!), it just felt painfully average for what you're paying. Also, pairing beef with a chicken based broth in the ramen? A bit of a confusing plot twist. The flavor profiles across the board just lacked that deep, punchy kick you look for when you're craving Asian comfort food.
