We stood waiting for about 10 minutes for someone to seat us, eventually a woman came to us, asked if we had booked or had we been staying at the hotel opposite when we said no the reply was 'we are not taking any walk ins'. It would have been a great idea to have put a message or something on the door to let people know they could not eat there. How do you explain to a 3 and 5 year old they cannot eat there?
