  The food was fab. Staff lovely. Had to wait a long time for food to arrive but they were very busy. I think they’re newly reopened and perhaps just misjudged the demand that day. I’m sure they’ll sort this. Staff dealt very well with this and a couple of cross customers. Food well worth it. We had the halloumi wrap, fishfinger sarnie and the beetroot burger.

  Hearty food, good ales and great riverside vistas when dining outside. Take a tray with you and cutlery, condiments etc., as they bring your food out but do not serve the extras to your table.

  Wanted to support the King's head reopening ,the mixed meat Sunday lunch at 22.50 pounds was very poor ,we were the only people in the restruant and unless you raise your game on a Sunday lunch you will struggle.

  The Kings Head has just reopened after a complete refurbishment in early June 2026. The inside has been stripped, repainted, redecorated and walls knocked through to make it more open and welcoming. There is now one big bar that spans across the front, rather than two separate rooms as before (bar and restaurant). New owners and new staff throughout. The Kings Head now more aimed at being a restaurant, but drinkers are made welcome. The menu is great and can be adjusted for allergy purposes if required. Doggy friendly too ! Dog treats on the bar and water bowls available

  What an incredible difference to the King's head! It's been transformed in to a thing of absolute beauty. The new management, Nikky and Shane are fab and the team are on the ball already. The food was mouth watering and served to such incredible standard. My gasted has been truely flabbered! Lol Well done all, keep it up!
