  As always Daniel and his team were fabulous. Always smiling and willing to help. Olivia served us and was so friendly and attentive. Always an absolute pleasure to eat here. Food fabulous as always.

  Bar & Block, Reading — 5 stars, would waddle in again. Went in hungry, left questioning my life choices in the best way possible. The breakfast spread had more variety than my Netflix watchlist, and I actually finished it (unlike said watchlist). Highlights: • Food so good I forgot to take a photo for the ’gram — a real sacrifice for a content creator • Variety level: buffet buffet, not “here’s toast and a sad orange” • Staff so friendly I almost asked one of them to be my emergency contact. Only complaint: I came for breakfast and stayed for a small existential crisis about whether I need to eat like this every morning. Reader, I do not have the metabolism of a 22-year-old anymore, but Bar & Block made me believe I did, if only for one meal. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys food, joy, or being treated like a human being by hospitality staff — a shockingly rare combo these days.

  Oh dear - if you are a "walk-in", walk out again: - no food for walk-ins (see pic) - no Negroni, because out of red Martini - no Woodford Reserve for Whiskey Sour (advertised with Woodford Reserve)

  Attend for lovely breakfast (as always) this morning. The place was absolutely rammed! Huge credit to the wonderful team who work so hard. Knowing that the restaurant is closing soon and many of them will lose their jobs, it must be very difficult to keep going to the high standard that they do. It shows what great dedication Dan and his team have to the customers. Its closing will be a loss to the area and it will be missed by many.
