  Very disappointing. We booked a table and I had to go up to the bar after an hour to ask where our food was. The kids toad in the hole was just a Yorkshire with a single sausage in it and they forgot about my son’s Mac n cheese. Which finally arrived about 10 mins after our food with some burnt garlic bread (and was deducted from the bill) The burger was average and my pie looked at tasted almost exactly like a Sainsbury’s Chicken, Ham and leek pie.. Such a shame as the menu and the venue looks nice

  I went with a group of mates on a busy Friday night. Enjoyed the sun and a few pints in garden which was great. Then had dinner (best to book a tabel). I loved my beef burger, cooked perfectly. My friends had the Korean burger, so good, maybe even better than mine. I will be coming in the week for their steak night as I saw it was a really good price. Looking forward to come back soon.

  Really enjoyed our visit here. The food was outstanding, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. The weather was lovely, so we had a couple of pints before our meal, which was a pretty good way to start the afternoon! The Korean Burger, and Fish and Chips were fantastic. The brownie is definitely a must for dessert! Overall, a really lovely experience and somewhere I’d definitely come back to. Great food, good drinks and a great atmosphere. We’ll be back! 🍻

  Since being refurbished we thought we would wait until the buzz had died down until visiting. We booked the Sunday roast for the evening. On arrival we were told that there were no roast dinners (apart from two chicken) available. That they usually run out by 3pm on a Sunday. They said it would be usual for them to call if we had booked a Sunday roast (no one called) so they would ensure that something was available. This was a poor state of affairs, made more annoying by the lack of interest from the staff. So, without dinner, we left. I have no axe to grind with these people apart from being disappointed in the whole experience and feel a warning needs to be given to anyone else attempting the apparently strange feat of eating in an evening on a Sunday.

  Was excited to come here following the refurbishment but left a bit disappointed. We were fairly regular patrons of the pub beforehand and had seen claims in the newspaper of a six-figure transformation… have to say I was expecting a total renovation inside but it just looks like a coat of paint at most. Anyway, fondly remember the enormous lasagna and equally enormous fish and chips from before, but have to say the fish and chips today was very disappointing. Overcooked, and the fish was so thin in parts it was basically just batter. Curry sauce and peas were good, though. Brocolli side was far too garlicky (and I like garlic). Tagliatelle was good (although pretty nuclear on the spice level). The prices are not cheap any more so expectations rise accordingly - I’d accept this quality in spoons but not when it’s basically just under £20 for every main. Sorry guys, it needs to be better. Also feels pretty annoying to pay a 12.5% service charge when you order by yourself at the bar. Come on - let me tip the staff if I want to and don’t force me to have an awkward conversation asking them to take this off. The young man behind the bar today was very helpful and polite and I’d have happily tipped him. I left the service charge on this time but I’m going to assume he’ll see a small portion of it at most, if anything at all. Disappointing. I think we’ll come back again as the beer selection is better than before but I’m going to have to hope it was an off day on the food. Don’t really like slating places in reviews but it feels like this could be so much better than it is. Feels like a few £ need to be shaved off of all food prices or the quality needs to jump up - one of the two.
