About

BakeryGreggs
We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth. Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks. Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours. Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats. Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?

I used to visit this Greggs location regularly and often bought my breakfast there, but after my last experience I will not be coming back. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and the employee told me they didn’t have any ready, but if I waited 10 minutes they would make one. While waiting at the Morrisons petrol station location, I saw the worker putting pepperoni on the pizza and then leaving to stack boxes in the petrol station area. After coming back, he did not wash his hands — he simply rubbed one hand against the other and continued handling the food. What made it even worse was that the same person appeared to be working both in the petrol station and preparing food for Greggs at the same time, including going back to the cashier area. I was so uncomfortable with the lack of hygiene that I threw away the food I bought and have not returned since. Food hygiene should be taken seriously, and I hope this issue is addressed properly.

Now this is usually my local go-to ‘snackery’. Hence not the total 1 star. Unfortunately I had eaten from here recently (wedgies and chicken goujons meal deal) which was the only thing I had eaten that day. The chicken appeared almost undercooked, not soft like the chicken usually is and the wedgies as if they weren’t even cooked and still hard potatoes when biting into them. I didn’t finish the meal deal and instead disposed of it. I had then been poorly for 2 days following this experience. Not acceptable. If i wasn’t running behind for work then I would’ve taken pictures and escalated further. This isn’t a total “AVOID AVOID AVOID!” but I now am aware of what food items not to try again. Very Unfortunate

Came in for a morning hot chocolate and a bake, I said to the guy can I have a hot chocolate and a coffee. I then get back to the car and hes given me two coffees. I went back in and said you given me the wrong drink I asked for a hot chocolate, he started calling me a liar and was claiming I said two coffees when I dont even LIKE COFFEE or DRINK THE STUFF. HE STARTED BEING VERY NASTY TO ME AND WAS TELLING ME TO SHUT MY MOUTH AND WAS INTIMATADING ME! VILE MEMBER OF STAFF NEEDS TO LEARN ENGLISH OR HAVE HIS EARS TESTED. WONT BE USING THIS PLACE AGAIN HAS MY BLOOD BOILING AND NEARLY MADE ME DO SOMETHING ILL REGRET. THE DISREPSESCT AND HE EVEN HAD THE CHEEK TO RUN HIS MOUTH AT ME AS I WAS LEAVING THE STORE!!!!!!

A lot more expensive than other Greggs stores either that or they've had massive price increases in last 2 months. Also £1.45 for a small bag of Walkers. Crazy.

Every single time I go in I never get an hello no smiles and one lady is always messing with her nose sneezing in her hand and then just carrying on serving without washing them!

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
